My Story

Just to make sure the person sends your stuff back in good shape, if you haven’t already, Monday send a request to the chief of police in the person’s town requesting the police to go to the address to verify the person is decesed, and if not decesed, send you instructions on how to file a criminal fraud complaint. Send it to the chief certified with return receipt requested (like the lawyers do) so you have a legal record of the request (the police won’t blow off as easily, and cost less than $6). The police would probably rather go by and get things moving instead of having you file a criminal complaint (ever watch “Cops” on tv?). You might also use the bottom link to check on the supposed death.

Before I start all of that, I think I’m going to give her a week. She said she would ship it with insurance back to me. I contacted 2 police stations. I didnt hear back from either, so I dont know whats going on. But maybe he doesnt want this police to intervene and he’s gonna send my stuff back. Maybe not. But I’ll give it a week before I get frisky again.

Sounds fair. I think its best to see if you can confirm that everything is included. Have her list everything that shes going to ship. Either by phone or by email. Its best if she sends everything the first time, so you won’t have to wait again for things that might of been left out.

That’s why you spend the $6 for certified with return receipt requested.

If they are returning the stuff all it takes a trip to UPS. They pay for the shipment, receive a tracking number, and give it to you. Later that same day you can track it. So they need like 24 hours, not a week. I feel an incredible urge to drive over there where you shipped the stuff and slap someone silly! This is way past ridiculous!

Jim I’ll meet you there, I’ll hold both arms back and you do the slapping. :smiling_imp:

I’ll bring a double barrel shotgun just in case. :smiling_imp:

As interesting as that would be, I am gonna have to pass. But right now I am righting her an email for the tracking number.

Cool! Did “she” say it was shipped out?

Keep us posted on whats going on. 8)

Yeah last Friday she said she was gonna ship it out Saturday. She said she found a box with my name and address on it. So Im waiting to hear back from her for that tracking number. :unamused:

Sounds cool  Let us know what “she” says.

Ive been secretly following this… :smiling_imp:

It sounds like your gonna get your stuff back and he/she is either telling the truth or just trying to get you off his case. Either way, you have made us aware of him and scared him/her pretty bad, maybe he will think twice next time when he is about to scam another 14 year old…unless he/she is telling the truth and he really is dead.

Either way, what goes around comes around dude!

You never know, he might actually be dead and I just made it hard for a person. Or he could be a scammer who is scared he’ll get caught. Either way, today is the 1 week mark; she supposedly shipped the package out last friday. I asked her for the tracking number tuesday-ish and still haven’t heard back. But every email I’ve got from her was on Friday. Maybe that’s her “Check my Email” day. We’ll see. All I know is she said it was shipped to me last friday, insured. But there is something thats been bothering me in the back of my head…

She said she found a package with my name and address on it and was going to ship it back to me. But the funny part is, I never gave her my name or my address! Now my name is in my email address, but I for sure never gave her my address. This has been bugging me…

But anyway we’ll see later.

You don’t put a return name and address on packages you ship?

No, I do. But I dont recall telling her my info in any emails. I might’ve, i just dont remember. :open_mouth:

You said:

So, you said that she said that she found the ready-to-ship package, not that she prepared it to ship herself, yes?

Im getting confuzzled!

She said she found a torn open package with my name and address on it. She said the package wasn’t suitable for shipping so… well here. Ill copy and paste the email I got from her:

I found a box with your name/address on it and believe it has your robots in it. I re-boxed it as the box it was in is torn and not suitable for shipping. The package will be sent with signature required/insured either later today or tomorrow. Please reply via email that you have received it.

                                                          Anita Baker

That was the exact message word for word. Hope this helps those who are confuzzled.

I fail to see then how you were confused as to how she got your name/address?

Because as far as I can remember, I didn’t tell her anything before that message. I told her my info after that. I don’t see how she could’ve even known who I was. But it’s not that important.
