Hello. I dont know if any of you remember me, but in January and February I had a couple of mishaps with my robots. I needed to sell some of them to get a new laptop so I could program on the go, so I posted them for sale here. I was new, and did not know the trading ethics, procedures, etc. I eventually met a guy who would trade his laptop for my bots. We got it all set up, and I was very excited; it was going to take my robot hobby to a new level. I was told that since I was new, I had to send my things first. Makes sense, right? No problem, I payed the shipping fee (which was HUGE for shipping a few things) and eagerly waited his response. Only to be let down by hearing that everything was broken. This made me extremely upset, but I said to send it back, thinking I could fix it. At that point I still had hope. Then, after about 2 weeks, no package. It was a 1-9 day shipping service. I contacted the shipping company, and apparently, no package had ever been shipped back to me. I repeatedly sent furious emails asking where my bots where. He never responded to this day. I lost about $1100 worth of stuff, which took a couple of years to make. I also lost something that I loved. I am still working, hopefully starting again. But this is just a way to get my emotions out and share with people. It still bugs me to this day. Post if you know something I dont or you want to share. Thanks
Happens to a lot of people, don’t feel bad.
Have you tried contacting the authorities to see if they can help?
Some rules to follow for your future e-business.
- Person buying the stuff sends their payment first.
- Don’t ship anything until you get your payment.
- If you’re dealing with expensive stuff make sure to get their phone number.
- Call the phone number before shipping to confirm it.
- Don’t ship until you get your payment.
- Make sure you get your payment as said before shipping.
- If your dealing with expensive stuff, or in general, ask for a eBay feedback, heatware, or some sort of user-feedback site/page.
Do you still have a record of all the emails?

I have his Phone #, his email, even his ebay ID! But he has blocked every one, so I cant get to him. I contacted the authorities, but havent heard back. I have no idea whats going on with that. But he is still prowling eBay, AND this forum. I contacted snailkeeper, but I was told their is no proof; which is correct because i cant get to him. So be careful, because even though I cant say his name, he is still a member of the forum.
Why not say his name? If you have emails and shipping receipts to prove what you say, post his name, phone numner, email and everything you know so we can all be on the look out. What if he uses a new user id? We might catch his real name if we know it.
If he did scam you, he deserves to have his name, address , etc. on here. That’s what happens to scammers.
I agree with evolution. It sounds like you’ve given him plenty of opportunity to do the right thing. It seems pointless for other people to have to go through the same thing.
You’ll be doing a favour to everyone else, and like evolution said: If he did scam you, he deserves to have his name, address , etc. on here.
Alright. You’ve convinced me. His name is James Williams. His eBay ID is:
jwno3
Ill have to get back to you on address and phone #, got to find that message…
It sounds like you have enough information to pin is ass down.
This person needs to pay for this!
I am not doing this for my gain. I have tried everything, there is nothing I can do for myself. I am doing this, as Kroony said, to help you guys out and stop this person from doing this anymore.
So your saying you gave up at getting your $1100 worth of stuff back that you worked so very hard to earn?
I have been working to get it back for 8 months. Please if anyone has a way I havent tried, tell me. He has blocked every means of communication to me. Even Beth tried to contact him about it, (which I greatly appreciated by the way) and he wouldnt respond to her. So please, throw out ideas; if I can get my stuff back I would be forever grateful.
As I said. Go down to the police station and let them know. They probably won’t act on it right away so keep.
You can always hire a stripper or someone to go to his house and have her get the stuff back
Does he live in NY? I’ll pay him a visit if he is within an hour or two of driving from me and politely remind him of his obligation
Seriously
Chris
Thanks for the help guys. But no, he lives in West Virginia. And I did contact the state and they were looking into it. Thanks for all the support. You guys are giving me hope again.
Go here and file a complaint. If it’s over $1000 they will look into it.
Second, contact your local Postal Officer and file a Mail Fraud complaint. Mail Fraud is a federal offense.
Third, take the city he lives in and go online to find a local Police department. One in his city. Call or email them and ask for the fraud division. File a formal complaint against him and provide them with all of your information about the incident. Tell them that you think maybe a visit would presuade him to send the item backs.
Often the police will go to his house and tell him he has 1 week to return your merchandise. This is usually enough to make even the biggest loser return your stuff or face charges.
And forth, file a fraud complaint with your local police department so you can give his police department your file number as reference. It will make your complaint look more official.
You have to turn the heat up on losers like that. They are so lazy, they will sit there with your product and never pay so long as they think they are getting away with it.
If you have his phone number, you can call his local telephone company and let them know he is conducting fraud over his phone. Reference you police file numbers when you call. Same with his internet service provider.
Run a Whois search online of his IP address in the header of his emails he sent you. It will tell you his location and his internet provider. Contact this customer service and tell them you would like to inform them that one of their customers is conducting criminal activity and fraud over their internet connection. And give them your police case numbers. They will likely look into it and cancel his service after they talk to the police. Convincing them is tough but if they believe you, they take it very seriously.
If you know where he works call there. Ask for him. Everyday. Call between 9:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday, once a day. It’s within your legal rights if you are attempting to complete a transaction with him and he has made himself unreachable. Leave messages. Everyday at his home number.
If you can talk to his boss tell him why you are looking for him.
Search him on facebook, myspace, etc. Find his friends and families names and contact information and message them explaining that you are looking for him and why.
If someone had my $1100 it wouldn’t be for long. Time to turn the heat up. He will be more than willing to send the stuff back if you turn his life upside down over it. You have to make the hassle of putting up with you worth more than the $1100 he stole.
And if he ships it back, don’t quit until you have every last servo horn. Don’t give him an inch.
I’m sure you can use your imagination as to what other wonderous things you can use mailing lists, spam lists, support group email subscriptions, online casino and porn subscriptions, mail order “adult” catalogues, etc. to get his attention. Subscribing to a she-male personal accessories catalogue and having it mailed in his name but to his neighbors house can always be fun. The best things are the ones that go to the 2 houses next to him. If they aren’t to embarrassed to return their neighbors “private” mail.
evolution, your pure evil. I like you even more =P
Basically that.
You need to show him pure hell. Make his life horrible and make him rethink scamming you. If you keep hammering away at something then you will get results. If you call him a few times and just give him he will think he won. But if you keep at it then he’ll be very annoyed with it and just ship everything back. Maybe even more.
If you file complains in many places, like evo said, the police and everyone else know your serious about it and you want your stuff back. With time, you’ll get every inch back

Evolution you’re awesome! I will do ALL of that later today. I cant thank you enough for explaining that to me. Trust me, If I can find the messages and get ahold of the police, his life wont be that easy anymore.
Alright I have sent him an email and have contacted his local police department. I’m waiting to hear back from them.
Evolution,
That was exceptionally put. Nothing else needed.
Guys I have some CRAZY INFO!!! I just got an email today from the guy who ripped me offs sister. Now I dont know if this is true, but she said he DIED! I am totally messed up now. She said he died in May of this year, about when I stopped getting his messages. Now this could totally be another plot, but I dont know…
If you know his name and his address, you can research the death records to see if its BS or not. Honestly, it sounds pretty fishy to me.
