I just acquired a Meccanoid G15 KS & a XL 2.0…One Built and the other in box
I would like to use this as an opportunity to expand my Creativity & ideas…i would love to combine the 2 somehow and built a much Taller Meccanoid. Maybe 6 to 8Ft instead of the default 4ft. Is this something you think it’s possible be extending the lefts by interchanging both kit’s to make a taller robot?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated…i also have a goal to control the Robot in a completely different way instead of the Traditional Brain that comes with it…

Yes, it is possible, however, as the specs of the motor aren’t specified it is hard to tell if they can provide enough torque. When you extend the arms/legs are you planning on adding more joints? or keeping the same amount of joints and using two servos on each?

I really appreciate your response…Thank you. Since my original post i did somehow experiment with both Kits…Since i was not desperate top build both kits ( G15 KS & XL 2.0 ) i decided to use one as a Parts…unfortunately the Newer version is the one in the box…lol…i have a fully built G15 KS with the White brain…but i was able to take part of the leg from the parts in the box and extend it. Meaning. i doubled the Height of the Robot by duplicating one of the lower Legs that attach to the Motor…so now i believe it’s like close to 6ft Tall now…It looks really unique. Nothing like the original. I love doing things like this. Take something Default and completely modifying it…I had to Splice the Motor Wires and make them Longer but it still moves with no problems…I did not include any servo movements with this Mod…Just adding extra duplicated pieces to extend the Height. I probably will leave Arms along since it looks AWESOME just like it is now…But now i wanna go further…i’m checking out your Links to see what i can do to expand my Creativity…i also want to change the Face & Head appearance. Maybe put a cardboard type of box over the Large Eyes and sort of make my own Robotic Looking Decorative idea and really make it authentic to my liking…i’m really excited. & it’s nice to have a response and someone else show the same interest…i’ll check out the Link and give you my Feedback…Now is there any way to upload Photos to this forum? it would be nice to share photos…

Great! Keep in mind that if you change the “brain” for an Arduino you’ll also be able to use Arduino compatible parts, such as sensors to add some autonomous features. You can also find some ideas here:

I like that Animatronic Robot Talking Head…Now that’s awesome…Here’s my G15 KS…i have the XL 2.0 in a box but i opted not to build but just enhance the G15…i was it was the other way around but that’s ok…As you can see it’s much talker now combining parts from the XL to the G15…

Only thing i’m confused about Geraldinebc is if i buy this EZ Robot Developers Kit…if i were to buy this for my Meccanoid G15 KS, i’m trying to figure out what i can do with it. This is where i get lost and need advice before i go buying and exploring…My Meccanoid G15 KS already has Servos and a brain and it can do things like interact and move…i wanted to go a little further and get more creative but i’m wondering what i would accomplish with this kit and what type of things i can do…can you give me a little help? i seen those links you gave me but they didn’t explain how i can interact this kit with my current Robot…it seems to be more on the starting from scratch, hence the included servos which i already have…please advise…
Well, I’m not exactly sure where the servos are placed in your creation, but extra servos can do no harm. If you don’t have it already, you could use two servos for a pan/tilt on the head, or maybe add a mouth. You could even use them to rotate the torso. It is really up to you.
The kit also has 2 continuous rotation servos and 2 wheels which you could use for the smaller robot.
It also has an ultrasonic/distance sensor that you can use to detect obstacles and a camera.
