Lynxmotion - Hunter VTail 400 & 500

Ok so here is a new Aerial Drone Canopy concept iv done.
I really wish i had the money to invest in this right now but other projects have more priority.
The canopy is bolted directly to the frame in three parts. Arms and Centre.

Hi All,

We have put both the VTail 500 and 400 kits online on Lynxmotion last Friday.
They are on Pre-Order only as we are waiting on two damn custom cable to finish the kits.

You will find them in their category under the 400 or 500.

(Crazy2Fly kits are online too)

What if I already ordered and assembled the VTail 500 Frame and mounting hardware? I poked around the Lynxmotion site and noticed I could order everything expect the Flip MultiWii Flight Controller and wiring harness. But it seems to be cheaper in the packaged kit…

Packages are always less expensive than order all parts alone.
We will add related parts in UAV/Drones category but for now they are quite everywhere as they can be also use for robotics application

The two wire adapter we will provide in kits will go online when we will have them on hand.
It will be a “Quad Power Harness” to connect all 4 deans connectors comming from ESC’s to the battery and a Receiver Wiring Harness to connect the receiver to the FLIP bard.

On lynxmotion.com/p-945-flip-mu … tible.aspx

there is not an option to add it to the cart?

Yes, your totally right about this.
We added this item and might forgot to activate the “Buy button” option. Not really convenient … i agree… It’s solved…

BAM! ordered… I’m justifying it as a really nice birthday present to myself :unamused:

All this being new, I’ve been reading and learning as much an as fast as possible.
I got a 4S 4200mah lipo battery (I hope it’s not too small  )

and I finally found a FrSky Taranis 16 radio and ordered it ( I hope I haven’t jumped to far into the deep end too soon :open_mouth: )

Looking forward to putting it all together, programming it, and getting it in the air! and learning lots more along the way, I’m sure.

BONUS:::: I have an in store use only $200 Apple gift card I haven’t been able to use in 2 months because I couldn’t find anything in the store I really needed…but I’m thinking I might go tomorrow and use it towards a GoPro Hero3+ Silver camera. Of course I won’t be mounting it anytime soon, until I learn to fly…but I’ll have it…I like having things…

Cool…
Always nice to buy yourself exactly what you want as a birthday present.

Which motor did you choose exactly? 4200mAh is good but on 4S it will have an impact on the Kv choice vs Propeller size.
The FrSky Taranis look like a very good TX…

I had done a simple plate for a GoPro (fixed) that bolts to the front of the VTail.
I have not had time to bring anything like that yet to Lynxmotion, but will sure do… !

I got the 930kv’s with 10-4.5 props.

This setup of motor and props is made to be use on 3S LiPo.
It will work, but might not be optimal. Trying some 9" prop might be a good idea but start with the 10"

First problem, the C clip doesn’t spin freely in on two of the motors after installed. No matter how much I try to center it. I’m going to remove the motor and make the hole 1/32" larger? Is this a common issue or have I done something wrong?

I found this problem too yesterday.
The motor c clip is slightly bigger than the sample motors we originally got.

We have corrected the drawings and next batch will have bigger holes.

Quick fix would be to slightly raise the motors with washer.

Second problem… The screw broke through the prop connector? I don’t feel like I over tightened it, but I probably did {hold head down in shame}…I can’t find a direct replacement for the motor manufacture? will any of them work…or would I be better off just getting another motor…

I hate asking stupid questions, I have googled all this but I think I’m using the wrong terminology. I did local search and found a public city park called “Hobby Park” in my city that is just for RC planes/cars and soap box derbies! I’m going to check it out and see if I cant make some new friends to bug with all these little issues…Thanks for your advise and patients.

I would be worried about vibration and balancing issues, I think I’ll just take it apart and make it larger…Time I have plenty of

You strip the head only?
Not the thread?

The screw is fine. Just where the rotor mount hole is countersunk, the screw head ripped through it. I can get the screw back out but I know it won’t tighten back at all if i do.

I don’t have the exact specification of that screw.
Just sent an email to the manufacturer…

Hi All,

Just to let people know that we put the kits with motors etc online on Lynxmotion and RobotShop.
We still wait for the custom cables to arrive, until then we take pre-order.
