LR2 Orange Light then red flashing not running

Hi!
I turn my LR2 on and the gear goes for less than a second and the middle yellow light will be on, then after a couple seconds the sensor light flashes red.
I have tried adjusting the sensor on the bottom to both less sensitive and more sensitive.

Any help would be great

Hi @Adele,

When you try to trigger cat sensor by pressing the entrance step, do you hear a click?

Hi,

I checked and cannot hear a click… any ideas?

Adele

Hi @Adele,

This would mean that cat sensor should be replaced.

You can buy it here: https://www.robotshop.com/en/litter-robot-2-cat-sensor-micro-switch.html

You can use this instructions to help you replace it: https://community.robotshop.com/blog/show/litter-robot-ii-repair-guide-chapter-4-cat-sensor-micro-switch

Hi again,

I think I do hear a click, we replaced the sensor and still have the same problem, do you have any other ideas please?

Thanks

Hi @Adele,

Sorry for late reply.

Flashing red should indicate issue with cat sensor. If you replaced it with a new one, and the issue is still there, it could be that the wiring is damaged somewhere.

Thank you for your reply…

Can you recommend anything to check the wiring or do you think it’s time to invest in a new robot?

Hi @Adele,

To be sure about the wiring, you can buy a new one (https://www.robotshop.com/en/litter-robot-2-sensor-harness.html) and replace it (https://community.robotshop.com/blog/show/litter-robot-ii-repair-guide-chapter-5-sensor-harness).

Hi again,

We changed this now and Still have the same problem (so far new motor, sensor & sensor harness) - any other ideas? I see that the robots are out of stock as well!

Thanks for your help!

Hmmm well it seems that only thing left for replacement is the circuit board.

Also, if you would like to return new parts that you don’t want, you can do that.

Hi again,
So we changed now the control panel and the problem is still the same… which is weird because all components are now replaced, I will return the control panel but the rest of the items are installed now.

Any others ideas or do you think the unit is dead?

Thanks again for your help

Hello again Adele,

Is your safety line working properly?

When you press it, do you hear a switch click?

Hi,
I don’t think it’s clicking when I pull it? Can this be repaired?
Thank you so much
Adele

Hi Adele,

If the wire is broken, we don’t have replacement one.

But, we do have replacement Safety Line Switch: https://www.robotshop.com/en/litter-robot-2-safety-line-switch.html

So you should probably check out in more details what really is the issue there.
