Looking to buy some robot parts!

Im very into robots but sometimes it very difficult to find essential parts which will make it more easy to build.
Im a student and I have to work on my project.
OK so my semester project in my engineering class is to build a line following robot for under $40 (not counting the arduino board to control it) so where I’m stuck is finding servos that will turn 360 for a reasonable price (also has to ship quickly), finding IR LEDs and phototransistors. I have never worked with these kinds of parts and searches on amazon for servos only seem to yeild 180 deg servos.

Any and all help is appreciated!

Hi there @loonie7 and welcome to the forum

May I ask why you’re looking for a servo? You could simply use a DC motor, here are the differences between the two:

Also, it would be great if you could check out the How Do I Choose an Actuator? and Making Sense of Actuators tutorials.

You can find many options in the Motors & Actuators section but the choice depends on the specifications of your project, such as speed, torque, payload, etc. The How Do I Interpret DC Motor Specifications? tutorial and Drive Motor Sizing Tool can also help you with the choice.

About the sensors, I think you will be able to find what you need in the Line Sensors section here on RobotShop.

Finally, I suggest checking out the Robots section, there are lots of line following robots there :robot:

You need to search for continuous rotation servos.

But, as @geraldinebc15 has requested… without knowing the scope of your project, we don’t know what parts are needed. Usually you would use a DC motor as propulsion and a servo would be more for steering (depending upon your design).

my issue got solved!!
