Litter Robot Open Air trouble shooting yellow light flashing

Hi,

I also have the rapid yellow lights flashing problem. I removed the pins. They had slight corrosion on them so I sanded and cleaned them. After re-installing, the problem persists. Once I plug the unit back it, the blue ready light flashes slowly - every time I press the Reset button then the yellow lights flash rapidly again.

I also checked the magnets and they are fine. What to do, thanks.

Hello @Piaf,

Thank you for your reply.

Very well, in this case, the DFI sensor needs to be replaced.

Hi, I have had mine for a bit but I bought a new sensor about a month ago and replaced with no issue. It fixed my problem.

Today, I cleaned the unit to keep it like new and when I put everything back together the same problem started. I don’t understand what makes these things so temperamental.

Can you shine light on why this would be happening to a new DFI sensor? Are they susceptible to issues?

Hello @Jessiejwill ,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having the same issue.

Please provide us with your order number or a copy of the invoice.

What did you use to clean the 2 green circuit boards of the DFI sensor?

We will also need to see the 3 pairs of contact pins shown in the following videos:
Anti-Pinch Pins:

Bonnet’s Pin:

Base’s Pin:

No need to take them out of the robot, we only need to see them from the outside.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

I will take it a part on Wednesday. I can assure you they all look good.

I replaced the circuitry to the DFI. The entire part not just the pins.

I tried pins only first and it didn’t work at all.

@Jessiejwill , Very well… awaiting your reply.

This was very helpful thanks to all!
Took about ten minutes to disassemble clean contacts with contact cleaner and 1000 grit sand paper and reassemble.
