@Christy Are you sure the yellow light is flashing or it’s the red one? If the yellow light is flashing, you should hear the motor turning and stopping every second. If it’s the red, then it means a sensor has been triggered for more than 2 mins.
@Mathieu, looking for some advice because I’m in Australia, and shipping is extremely expensive… My globe recently no longer rotates… When the globe is not on the machine, I can see that the motor is attempting to turn, but when the globe is actually on, the yellow light just blinks, and then globe doesn’t actually rotate. Do you reckon that it is the motor that needs replacement? Or is there another element that I should check first?
My litter robot tries to rotate the globe, but it doesn’t do so. When the globe is on, the gear won’t rotate. When the globe is off of the base, then I can see that the gear is rotating away. Is this a sign that I need a new motor?
@Jonathan Can you turn the black cog wheel by hand easily? If so, then the cog wheel would need to be tighten.
I’ve posted in the past about my robot stopping and starting mid cycle for no apparent reason with the yellow light on. Suggested it was the motor. Ordered a new motor and installed it the other night. Made two full cycles no problem then it’s right back to starting and stopping.
What to check now? This is annoying now.
And I’ve verified 15v from power supply
FIX - So an update to my litter robot problem. My globe would turn. Then randomly stop for no apparent reason- then start back up and stop. Yellow light on. Almost as if a trigger was stopping it. Replaced motor - one or two full cycles and it started stopping again.
Check power supply and all switches. Appeared fine.
If this is happening to you… take a closer look at your cable sensor. You’ll notice the globe doesn’t spin perfectly. It will have a slight up and down motion because of the cog gear. Check the metal plates that the cables connect to. In my case it looked fine. But work the cable a few times and watch the plates. I could see the plates coming apart by a hair. That was my problem. Bent the metal plate a bit to make a more “solid” connection and the problem is over.
Hope this helps you.
Just purchased a Litter Robot from a private seller. Had a faulty power jack, which I replaced. Then found that the cables from motor/harness were connected incorrectly (green was not with red, white not with brown). Circuit board has functioned properly and no sign of water/urine damage. The globe is first rotating clockwise, then counter clockwise, which is reverse. Have scoured the comments and the best thing I can see is to contact customer support and open a repair ticket. Any ideas on how I can fix this as I did not purchase this from RobotShop?
@Mike Have you installed the motor back like it should? (Red/Green and White/Brown) Make sure to verify the circuit board connections, making sure the connections are not reversed.
Could you please provide an indication of the error I should investigate based upon the lights?
My LRII has a solid yellow light at powerup.
I don’t see any mention on the Basic or Advanced troubleshooting guides on this site wheeI should start troubleshooting based on the lights. Do they have a meaning for troubleshooting?
Is this site even associated with the Litter Robot or AutoPets? The domain is totally different and there is no branding that lets us know you are associated.
@Brian We are the distributor and an authorized reseller of the Litter-Robot. If you have a solid yellow light but the Litter-Robot doesn’t turn, it means there’s a problem with the connection between the motor and the circuit board. It can also be caused by a defective motor. We suggest you to take a look at the motor connectors and possibly exchange the motor for a new one.
Hello! My litter robots spring loaded door isn’t shutting all the way. It seems like the spring is easy weakening or the flap has become warped. It is worse on the side opposite the spring (the opening). Any help or correspondence would be greatly appreciated as it’s just dumping litter out on rotation.
My LRII occasionally rotates past the stop that opens the waste door. When this happens, the door clunks shut loudly and the globe continues to rotate. When it stops and the green light come on, the doorway is at a 90 degree angle so my cat is unable to enter. If the LR is manually reset it will go through the normal cycle and stop in the correct position. Can you assist me in remedying this intermittent problem? What is it that normally stops the globe from rotating when the waste door opens? Thanks!
@Tom The hall effect sensor, which is responsible to detect the magnets inside the Litter-Robot globe, is on the harness. We suggest you to verify if it’s installed correctly, with our guide. If it is, then the problem you are experimenting is either caused by a defective hall effect sensor (which you would need to replace with the whole harness) or a defective circuit board (as it doesn’t act properly while cycling).
How do I put the magnets back into the Open Air 3?!!?!?!
I have a Litter Robot II. After turning it on, I get a solid yellow light for a minute, then a red blinking light. I tested the sensor switch and it works. Pulling on he safety cable doesn’t make a clicking sound and doesn’t trigger the motor. Any ideas?
My litter robot has the cycling/in use light flashing rapidly. No action at all is happening. I’ve done the entire advanced troubleshooting guide and everything seems to be working. Do you have any suggestions?
I did notice the guide states 15v ac on the power supply, I am reading 14v dc. Do you think I have a bad power supply?
