Looks great!

Where’s the new one from?

Alan KM6VV

Awesome! It looks very solid/strong. Is it made of aluminium?

In fact it’s from the same guy… HaHa…
Just a more strong design.

I was kind of sure i was ok with the last setup… didn’t want to put more money at the time.
But… should have… HaHa…

Pictures are not very nice… will take better one.
Yes all aluminum in most case it’s 3/4"

The X axis structure is of 8080 Aluminum extrusion and will house a 25mm ballscrew

Hi Eric,

I wondered if it was from the same company. The ballscrews should work great.

Alan, KM6VV

As i said yes it’s the same guy.
www.xzerocnc.com
But the website is crap… it’s a Raptor 24x48 and it will have aluminum tabletop.

Looks like your quad found a new bed… lucky if it will let you use it as a CNC table

He is pretty wild…
I might wait until it go by itself…!

I think I’d like a pattern of 10-24 threaded holes on 1/2" centers. But then you’re cutting bigger parts…

Will you bolt on a sheet of sacrificial stock?

Nice machine!

Alan KM6VV

Last one had 4" pattern with 1/4 insert from the bottom.
That was the sacrifice board in MDF and yes i will put one as well. Since i moslty cut G10 sheet thru…

Eric,

Your efforts to create the ultimate CNC machine are reaching epic proportions, like the Quest for the Holy Grail or the Search for the Northwest Passage. However, based on your record, you will succeed in your alchemy.

For the benefit of all who follow, have you considered creating a consolidated chronical of all your CNC builds from the beginning. You could add retrospective comments on what you liked, accepted/tolerated, or hated about each successive device. Include a reality checklist of what features are critical to have, or avoid, or simply nice to have when acquiring a machine. Maybe cap it all with guidance on the capabilities of various builds such as what suffices for essentially small flat builds like circut boards vs larger 3D projects.

Putting all this together, perhaps as a downloadable document would be a great service. The resulting book would be novel even though it was history.

Not that we want you to go to any extra effort… :unamused:

Humm…
Do they sell “Time” at HomeDepot… ?

But yes i could do something…
I am thinking of making small CNC kits maybe… if people are interested.

Awesome, looking good!
Is it operational yet?

Still missing some screws here and there (thanks to the seller…)
But i have just tried a cut anyway.

Nice! What material are you cutting, ABS? Tried aluminium yet?

That was a 1/16" G10 plate. (Fiberglass, PCB like but harder)
It was the first cut on the machine…

Aluminum will come… but i am impress by the rigidity of the machine.
Cutting Aluminum would not be a problem i think
