Your workspace...

I’ve been spending so much time on my robot lately and thinking about how much time I spend in the a rather dreary corner of my basement…yesterday the humidity was so bad here water was condensing on the exposed waterpipe and dripping on my monitor…:open_mouth: thought I’d post a pictureand see where other people spend their time…

Nice space  Good thing its organized!

I use my desk and bed for work. I have a nice 6 x 3.5’ office desk that has plenty of room for a bunch of stuff! I can post a picture later after I clean up a bit

I don;t think anyone would want to see my workspace, its a complete mess but sometimes i clean it up to the point where it looks perfect.

This is mine. All of it. It consists of a soldering iron, a dremel and some screwdrivers.

George I can’t answer for. He just turned up.

Wow,you workspace is pretty orginized

That’s because I’d just packed most of it up. Generally it is disheveled.

That is the sum total of the work area. It gets messy quick.

Nice work area MattPower! Is that an acer 22"? What SFF case you have? I know what its called, but its at the tip of my tongue and won’t come off >_<

Its an Apple 20" and a Shuttle PC.

Well,I’ve just cleaned up my workspace, maybe i will have pics tomorrow :unamused:

Apple 20" Wow, really? Looks a lot like an Acer 22"

Shuffle PC! Thats the name =D

Well, tomorrow came sooner than i expected, here are the images :

I have three work areas. 1 one would be bedroom desk with access to all my tools. 2 would have to be my basement workshop with a giant workbench I built in shop class with access to all my dad and my tools, and the 3 would be my dad’s shed with access to all of his tools

Depending on the project depends on where I work, but most common stuff is done in my room. Pics? No problem!

Tomorrow of course.

Here is a pic were most of the work happens.

And here is my current project.

Any questions ask away.

I’m not so good at photo stitching, so here’s a short video walkaround. I’m much more in software development mode right now than robot building, but I’ll unpack everything and get back to it soon.

Main Desk
Old robot area mostly packed up
Server farm
Packed up parts waiting to some free time

What are all the servers for?

Servers are more software dev stuff than robotics but I may come up with an interesting use for a ton of horsepower when I get back in the robotics swing (video processing perhaps?)

:open_mouth: Woooooo Hoooooooo!

My wife has tucked me away in a corner of our home - my pigpen home within a home

Kudos to Andy for dynamic inpiration over stills

About to get more messy as a tackle my first brazing attempts into a few forthcoming projects (expect to see future pictures of burns when the acetylene comes on)

Chris

Addendum - So Im sitting here looking at the workshops of all you weird computer scientists, roboticists, and the like and my wife walks over and puts this thing in my face

She was preparing dog food from hole chickens with various parts included. I dont know what exactly she does at work in her pharmaceutical company but she scares me at home :open_mouth: After 10+ years I still dont know what I got myself into. Be careful of those chemists.

PS - Im the douc_e in the background telling her to give it a pulse which she was doing before the camera came on

Ohhhh pretty!! Are those rack servers all dell poweredge servers?

P.S. Rack Mount servers go in a shocking rack, not on the floor =P

is that fire extinguisher there for when those servers catch on fire?
