Yard Gnome

This is Yard Gnome. He is as long-term work in progess. YG has a build blog at https://www.robotshop.com/letsmakerobots/node/18964

It will drive around my yard and help with chores

  • Actuators / output devices: one 12V motor for locomotion, geared transaxle, front-wheel steering, planned gripper arm
  • Control method: Working on remote control for this phase

  • Power source: Two 12V gel cel batteries
  • Programming language: none yet
  • Sensors / input devices: none yet - planning for cameras and sensors
  • Target environment: outdoor, My yard

I’m not sure but all I know is that this robot really looks mechatronic :smiley: thats what a robot should be:D

That’s correct. I ditched

That’s correct. I ditched the mobility chair frame, just salvaging the electronics, motor and rear wheels/transaxle. It is integrated into the frame from a pedal car, which I will now start to build servo controls for. There’s a lot more info on the blog page for this robot, but here’s a pic of it’s current state.
