TriCopter - QuadCopter - Project

Ok well my DiaLFonZo VTail 400 Frame arrived the other day. WOOP.

Eric has helped me set it up and it should soon be ready to fly. (once my (PRE-ORDERED) motors arrive!)

Following the arrival of the frame i have been working on a canopy to compliment this exceptional quadcopter.

The Canopy (400 size only)
I’v made it in three main parts. 3D Printed
-Main Magnetic Detachable centre part and two separate Motor Arm Covers.

Eric designed me some magnetic mounts that fit directly to the frame meaning we have something to attach the canopy too.

Jonny, that is awesome as always…
Note that you can mount the landing either on the inside or outside of the brace

ah cool. i didnt know that. I wasnt sure it it would fit that way so i just assumed. lol

That does look pretty badass. 8)

It needs a desert camo paint job. I like it a lot.Suggest adding your flexible struts for hard landings.

i have already asked eric for those in the v2 of the Vtail.

This is all “eye candy”…
Now to see how they fly

My DiaLFonZo-Copter Hunter VTail 400 (Jonny post) is not new.
I have over 80 frame sold …

My new SpyderHEX is new… but quite simple.
I am sure it will fly good.

Mine will not fly soon cause i have no money for motors… :frowning:
But i have 3 to cut and send to some people so… soon first flight.

Eric

Appreciate the link - first video shows amazing acrobatics! How much flight time do you get out of the V-tail?

Unfortunatly… i ain’t got time to build one for me… HaHa…
± 15min depend on the motor and battery choice and how you drive the thing in the air.

The Canopy (400 size only) … By iNNERBREED

It is available in three main parts.
-Main Magnetic Detachable centre part and two separate Motor Arm Covers.

Additionally the kit comes with magnetic mounts that fit directly to the frame meaning we have something to attach the canopy too.

Please remember, the space for flight controller is quite small and will need to be tested with a bigger board, but at the moment a mini board 35x35mm should fit easy.

(Actual Magnets are not included and will need to be ordered separately) Only requires four per kit. 0.25" diameter and 0.0625" high (1/4x1/16)

IS available for you to order

Have you ever tried to make one of the frames using Lexan rather than carbon fiber? Any pros / cons? I would think that although it might weight more, the price difference would be significant, with roughly the same rigidity.

The frame is not made of carbon fiber but G10 (fiberglass material).
Lexan is too brittle and soft for what I do.

G10 don’t cost a lot, probably less than lexan
