Spherical Flying Machine

I saw this and just had to post it. very temped to build one!

Well in actual fact DialFonZo is already my Technical Support for this project. lol (He doesnt know this yet but he will soon.) :smiley:

A flying Sphere with vertical propulsion and horizontal omnidirectional travel is very cool.

Agree! It would be really fun to build something like that. I like that its pretty safe for indoor flying. And I like that its spherical…

Well it would be cool to see a swarm of these things, so ill let you know how i get on with building one. :wink:

The sphere is only for visual purpose.
The 8 winged control will give it great maneuverability control.

Methinks the sphere also provides a bi-directional safety perimeter protecting both the bot and the world-at-large.

I get it that it’s a sphere; why not consider making it a ducted fan inside the sphere?

iv been looking into that.
and while searching i have found their first test flight…er CRASH!

im pretty sure it will still work like this with just 4 rudders instead of 8.?

also im planning on pulling in the air more by using airflow fins around the top.

the vanes act as rudders, I was musing about a ducted fan, which is basically a “tube” that the propeller spins in. Just an idea. (which you probably don’t need).
