We are proud to announce that the "Neato Botvac Connected " robot vacuum will soon be available at RobotShop. A release date will be announced shortly, and more information to come.
This looks like it is going to be a superb robot vacuum by Neato. The change to the battery is a good move and surprising they haven’t done this with their D-series only recently released. Excellent video too!
Thanks Mathieu. If there is a warranty issue do we have to deal with US? Also can I assume the power supply will be US plug if ordering online. I’m tempted to buy as there is no word of its arrival here yet but want to ensure it won’t create any issues. Thanks
@Stacey There’s no warranty issue that you would have to deal with. You would be responsible for the shipping fees to and from RobotShop, but the repair fees, parts and labor are all covered by the warranty. If you are ordering on our US website, the power supply will have a US plug. You would simply need to purchase an adapter.
They compare between the two best vacuums, Neato Connected vs Roomba 980. , but I have no idea which one should I get. What do you think? Maybe I should get other robot vacuum? Would love to hear your opinions!
@Ron Both choices are actually pretty good robots. We are talking about the top two vacuum robots available on the market. The Botvac Connected is using the same navigation system that previous Botvac models, which is performing really well. The Roomba 980 on the other hand has a new navigation system, using a camera for navigation instead of a RPS system. The Botvac Connected is using the same cleaning system and vacuum as the D series, which is currently one of the top of the market. The Roomba is using the tangle-free brushes and a new vacuum system, according to iRobot, has been improved to follow the methodical navigation compared to earlier models. The Roomba has a greater battery life compared to the Botvac, but the filters are not lasting as long as the Neatos. Finally, if you purchased a Neato Botvac Connected with us, currently you will be covered by the 5-year warranty, available only at RobotShop. We do not have the Roomba 980 in our catalog for now.
In regards to purchasing the Roomba or the Botvac, something that stands out to me is the necessity with Roomba to still use the lighthouses for it to navigate. My Roomba 780 still gets lost consistently when navigating between two rooms. The videos I have seen of the botvacs looks like they’re pretty good at making it back to their station with having to have the little lighthouses positioned around the house.
