Here is an unpainted/pigmented test skin to see how well it would come out of a core mold and also how it would look for the eyes…
It’s an iRobot baby! ^____^
yes i see the similarities to the NS-5
I have a major update for this project, but ill post details on this as soon as i can. Its more a decision i have made, rather than an actaul development update.
In the mean time, i have been looking into printing the underskull, rather then casing it. The reason for this will be outlined with in the update. Ill still be coving it with a silicone skin.
For those who are unsure. The Underskull is pretty much what it says it is. a hard surface or structure of which supports or holds the skin in place. rather like your own skull.

Amazing work as always Jonny!
Hahaha that’s looking awesome!
Thanks.
Still designing the body but its getting there.
just need to add a hip joint and the hands.
Then move onto the legs.
Once this has been designed i can then work on the casing
Ever consider “faking” having a child?
lol. I already have two kids.
This one can be turned off, and so without a doubt its going to be my favourite.
Will it make noises/“talk”?
Nope. Its a newborn.
Damn.
Q: Are you asking if ill be installing a sound board for audio animatronics?
I have no plans to add sound capability.
sorry.
However…
I can make the parts available on my shop for others to make their own Baby NANO if others would like??
Yeah, I just thought it’d be cool if you could have a few force sensors on the baby’s hands, etc. so that if you held it’s hand, it’d make a little giggle/laughing sound but if you pressed too hard, it’d start crying.
Well this is the design for the hand… but no sensors here:
(hopefully this one will work…)

I do plan to add sensors to the baby but not for sound.
It will be autonomous so i can let the system run sets of randomly generated code allowing the baby’s actions to be as natural as it can be. along side this i will use accelerometers, meaning its reactions can be varied depending on how its handled.
Code has already been written (well the very basics anyway)
I also plan to add a rc receiver doc on the back so one can plug in a receiver, switch 'a switch, and then that selected servo can then be controlled independently from the code, using manual input.
Meaning if certain motions or actions are required, then it can be operated there and then on the fly.
Its Hopefully going to be a very unique animatronic prop.
The hand looks good! I might request a large scale version sometime in the future.
Looking forward to seeing some test runs of the baby in action.
Here is the proposed custom PCB iv designed and just ordered 'that will allow me to select between manual and autonomous control for up to 8 selected servos.
My first PCB so go easy!
Receiver channel output connect to the first column labelled RX#
The Selection jumpers to select between receiver input data or MPU input data
Third column is where the servos connect to,
Fourth column connects to the MPC output channels.
