**Ill say bad idea. I always**<br><p>Ill say NAH. I always keep LMR open in a tab as Im working at the computer so I can keep up to date and chat in the shoutbox. Having 2 sites is like trying to talk to 2 tables of different friends at the same time. </p><p>A simple way would be to add another top menu (its getting pretty crowded up there now. lol) for "Circuits" for anything else and keep "Robots" for robots.

There is a gassilion electronic sites and forums out on internet already, and try doing a google search with words like: programming, microcontroller, site, forum, electronic, circuit, etc. You’ll be lucky to get less than a million hits. So, keep LMR for making complete robots and find another forum for other stuff…

A few people here seem very Very VERY particular with only having full robot projects posted with most people posting robotics widgets being flamed and push to the blog marshlands.
Widgets form the bases of robotics; putting together a bunch of widgets is easier than designing the next industry changing widget, thus I feel widget designers need to be encouraged and this does not seem to be the place for that.
Thus a new/alternative site were none of the current prejudice can influence people wins my vote.

I think the issue is that some new people are not familiar with the lay of the land as it were. Yes the site is primarly for robot builders, but it does not exclude “widget” builders. I consider myself one of the widget makers and have posted my different projects to my blog as it was a fitting place to put it.
As far as what should be posted, the FAQ should be helpful in pointing this out.
The “issue” was someone
The “issue” was someone simply said hey this is an electronics component and you posted it as a robot project. They were asked to post it in the right section. Can we stop all the uneeded drama? Someone put a can in the plastics recycling bin that was all. We don’t need to open a new site. If you can’t get past that and still have something crammed up your butt then please go somewhere else.

lets-make-electronics.info is a different website than this. If people want to use it then great if not then dont, but we should try to discourage people from using it if they want. LMR builds robots and LME builds electronic projects. I am not trying to split up sites, but just make a new one on a different topic. You build robots? if so post it here, if itts not a robot but just a project then you can post it on LME. I think some people are confused that if they use this website they will be forced to use LME. If you dont like LME then dont use it, but dont crush others hopes. Some people use Yahoo others use Google. Some have a Myspace others have a Facebook, hey some have both.I am glad i got some of your blood pumping again.

There are places for advertising sites… and there are places it shouldn’t be advertised… and considering … they’re the same damn thing, I see it as disrespectful. That’s almost like me going to your site, and posting “Hey guys! letsmakerobots.com has a electronics area… with ALOT more people, come join!” I dunno… I’m sorry but I don’t understand peoples logic sometimes.

WRONG. Post it in the right place and nobody has a problem. Circuits -> blog/electronics forum. Robots -> robot page. Can I sign up to LME and post the scarf I knitted as a circuit?

Making a site called PetBook because Facebook is only for people and thinking Facebook would be grateful is wrong. Facebook would instead drop 10 tons of lawyer filled asskicking.
Im going to assume you didnt mean any harm by it and certainly nobody can stop you making your own site, but if you wanted to see something about LMR changed or added the best place to have your say is in the wish list. Don`t forget that nobody gets paid for doing this. LMR runs on the goodwill of awesome people like Frits and TCG, so the wheels DO turn but they turn slowly.
