Object avoidance

Hey guys. This is my first robot. Couldn't have done it without Robot Builders bonanza and letsmakerobots. Did a lot of research before I decided to buy a bs2 from radio shack. Still got a lot to learn both hardware and software. My robot drives around avoiding objects with 4 Ir leds 2 IR modules . Since. Im new to programming I decided to modulate the leds at 38khz with. 556 . I had problems trying to.tune in both modules with 1 555 so I decided to use a 556. In the process of adding in a bumper switch. Video up. Check it out. Poor video from phone. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=NvTw_BaN7mQ

  • Actuators / output devices: 2x hs311
  • Control method: autonomous
  • CPU: Basic Stamp 2
  • Sensors / input devices: IR
  • Target environment: indoors

Nothing wrong with using a 556 for the IR timing, it frees up your microcontroller to do other things instead.

Looking forward to the video =)

I second that. I’ve seen

I second that. I’ve seen some very good robots using this method for driving sensors.

Its a nice “start here” robot!

Sadly the link doesn’t seem to work.

Also you should try the embedded video option, that way the video is right here on your robot page.

Nice bot. It seems there might be a bit of a program issue with the bump switches though.

**bumper switch **
Definitely need to do some adjustment on the program. Was using copper wire glued to a switch. Could be a lot better.
