I need a dc brushed gear motor but I do not know enough which ones will work. One of the brushes container broke off and will not form a complete circuit. So I was going to replace the dc brushed motor. The wires from the motor connect to jst connectors. This is for a can crusher. The motor spins the gear which extends the arm and crushes cans.
The power supply says:
Input
100-240V-50/60Hz 1.5A max
Output
29.0V ⎓⎓ 2.0A
The dimension of the motor are:
1 and 1/2 inch diameter
3 and half inch long including shaft for pinion gear
13 tooth pinion gear
What product am I needing?
What is the acceptable range of products that could work for this project?
I can send pictures if it would help.
If I need to, I can also replace the power supply to match with the motor. The gears should work with a different motor as long as the teeth of the gears match.
It’s very difficult to replace a motor, even with all of the details, because a lot needs to match the original specs:
Nominal voltage (29V is quite rare, as normally it’s 24V)
Current seems low at 2A which would likely correspond to more current than the motor needs
The output gear needs to correspond perfectly with whatever it’s meshing with
Mounting holes of the replacement motor need to correspond with mounting holes on your device
Connections to the circuit need to match or you need to crimp a new connector on the new motor (ensuring it’s the same)
Overall length and width of the new motor need to fit the old frame
As such, try your best to exhaust reaching out to the manufacturer of the main device, ask on forums for the main product and see if an identical motor can be ordered or obtained. In some situations, the motor may have markings to give an idea of which manufacturer produced it and the SKU, but can’t spot anything from your photos.
