My Hexapod "MeanGreen"

Hi Guys! Here some little clips from my Hex named Meangreen!
The Mean Maschine is a Lynxmotion CH3-R with a SSC-32 controller and a Bot-Board 2 with an Atom Pro as Brain!
The servos are 6xHitech HS475HB and 12xHitec HS645MG for the Legs, also a old Graupner servo for the Head!
The “Weapon Arm” is made with Carbon and some Aluminium pieces, 3xHitec HS65MG servos an 2x 50mw Green Laser Diodes!
I also made the complete Body and the Legs with very light Carbon fibre! the upper Legs are made with Aircraft Aluminium!
The Head is an old Computer mouse that no longer want to work with me! so i killed her…
Hope you like it!

That laser in the 2nd video had nice bright beams coming out of the weapon. Very cool.

Hi,

You’ve done a really great job with your custom version of the CH3-R. I love the laser head that jumps up and “scan” the area, very cool! 8)
Also like your custom femur brackets. And not to forget the lighting effects and the head on front (the PC mouse), awesome and very creative!

Any pictures would also be appreciated

This is a nice implementation of the CH3-R! I like the add-ons you made! Would you be willing to share your code with other builders? Nice work!

Thanks for your great reply! some detail fotos from the “Mean Maschine” comes tomorrow! It was a lot of work and many time! and not forget the lot of money… but now im very happy to present the robot!

Hi,

very impressive work. The idea to integrate the PS2 controller in the mouse is very creative. Compliment from my side for this awesome CH3-R design!

Next project- KILL THE BUGS IN THE BRAIN!!!

Nice work on Mean Green! It’s one of my absolute favorites!

Nice 10 amp BEC! I need to try one of those.

Thanks!
I ordert the Bec here:
cgi.ebay.de/LRP-HEAVY-DUTY-BEC-L … 5ad558ba9d

i also looked at this:
western-robotics.com/hercule … r_car.html
But anyone in Germany sells this Bec and it was a little bit too large! :frowning:

Where did you get the power control displays?

Hi! i bought them by “ELV” in Germany!
here the Link: elv.de/Lithium-Akku-Monitor- … ch_/marke_

The displays also are in ebay!

Hope it helps!

What words do you search for on ebay to find these?

I am working on a CH3-R with a head and neck setup similar to your weapons platform… any chance you could share your code? I am new to it and would love to see if I can edit it to my guy

oh yeah… one more question on that battery monitor… does it just attach to a positive and negative lead? My lipos have build in PCB battery balancing and protection so I dont have that little connector to all the batterys, I just have a positve and negative lead

hi! you must only plug on positiv and negativ! very simple!!

Hey Guys imback again with some new parts for Meangreen!
bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/9r64-p.jpg
This Pic shows my new Servo endcaps! there made with aircraft aluminium and full cnc-milled!
the cap weight a half than the original plastic endcap and the Lynxmotion Cap together! It brings also more stable and the servo rotating axis is now right in the middle fixt (±0,1mm)!
bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/9r64-q.jpg

The next part i made is a new Hip! i need the ASB-04 for my new hex (Snow-white) so i construct some new!
bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/9r64-r.jpg
It is complete Lasercut 2,5mm Aluminium and very very stable by the half weight of a Asb-04!
bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/9r64-s.jpg
here in the robot!
bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/9r64-t.jpg

in a very long night in changed all servo caps and the asb-04… i will never do that once again!!! it was so a lot of work…
but now im very happy to fix this parts and meangreen walks more stable than bevor-i think!!

Here some new pics from the Meanmachine
bilder-hochladen.net/files/thumbs/9r64-v.jpg
