Sorry, that job is already taken by my friend.
Every time he comes over, the first thing he touches is Aiko’s … you know what.
But the good news is that I will be doing the last final test for the nervous sensor system and the AI logic for it this weekend.
After that I can do a demo video. 8)
One lucky friend you have! Oh well.
Can’t wait for the demo videos Keep up the good work.

yeah I cannot wait till you get Aiko’s hands done
Hi
I was going to do a demo this weekend, but I want to do something more very late at night.
I accident fried two of my mainboards. I forgot to unplug the main power. DAmnnn… $1000 gone with a blink of a seconds. >:(
Advice from me.
If you have expensive mainboard. Make sure you put in a fuse, or when doing something, make sure the power is unplug.
Always double check it.
I have to replace the board, it probably going to takes two weeks to get to me. :’(
So probably won:t have the full body demo until two weeks from now.
OUCH!!! Darn man That sucks!! How come your mobos cost $500 each? EEK!
Whenever I deal with anything expensive I always make sure the power is off. When I tinker with my new pc (<333333333) I always unplug the power, and make sure the PSU is on the off position. Don’t want anything fried!! I also make sure to touch my door knob
For good luck?
would do better to leave the computer plugged into the outlet but turned off and then touch the grounded chassis.
Thats true. But if I discharge my static then I won’t have to worry about it as the floor in this house is hardwood Most of the time I have the PSU plugged in but turned off. I only unplug it when I need to move the case closer because my cable isn’t long enough
As far as I know, doorknobs arn’t grounded. (Need Sarcasm Emoticon)

Donno what kind of door knobs you guys have up there in canada…
They arent here either, . But it seems they can still be used to discharge those meanie electrons.
I geuss the laws of physics sease to exist on your doorknob

Wood floors mean didly squat when it comes to ESD and the myth of High Humidity causes little or no ESD is false. It depends on the material in the working environment such as Cloths, Tape, Cups, Plastics, etc. When you touch metal you only momentarily discharge your self. It’s best to use a real ground strap that has a built in 1meg resistor to safely handle electronic devises. A quick “pick it up and move it” job, would only require a discharge before picking it up, and then again before setting it down. A wrist strap for such a brief moment would probably not be practical but it is the proper, safest way to do things.
Hardwood floors cause less ESD than a shag carpet. I’ll tell you that much. If the PSU is grounded and inside the chassis, then the entire chassis is grounded. If you touch a part of the chassis before handling hardware then you will most likely be safe. Yes, it is true that anti-static mats and all that stuff is the best way to go. But I’m too poor Plus I don’t like the restricted movements of being tethered down to a floor mat.
Now, there are thousands of threads on ESD all over the internets. Lets not spam up animetown’s thread with ESD talk.
animetown, did you manage to get replacement boards?
“animetown, did you manage to get replacement boards?”
Yes… let’s spam Little Aiko.
I put an order today, it probably won:t come until 2 weeks.
Those are special mainboards. It only require 9 watts to run, with build in 8 Gig solid state. I use 4 mainboards to operate Aiko.
I was working late at night 4:30am.
I was adding some metals into Aiko internal body, I was so sure I unplug everything. I saw a spark, and I thought I was imaging it, then I saw smoke coming out, and I still thought I was imaging it. The finally, I start to smell fried android, then I realize it…
I was so tired… should have went to sleep earlier and this would not had happened. But I guess this make it fun … building robot late at night.
Any Updates,Pics…ect
I am still waiting for two of my replacement mainboards.
I am hoping to get it by the end of the week.
Air mail international takes at least two weeks.
I will probably do a quick demo nothing fancy.
(if my mainboard arrive before friday, then I can vidoe tape it on the weekend)
touch sensors, and physical sensation.
Hand shaking
Messaging my shoulders.
combing someone hair
cleaning water on the table.
slapping
talking
I was going to add a breathing system, but I need my sleep.
So that would be my next update.
putting a rose in a vase
and pouring saka into cup.
If you have some suggestion and would like to see aiko do it, please let me know.
Pleaae be resonable of request for short amount of time.
and pouring saka into cup.
Cute female android pouring alcohol for you =D I so want one ^^;;
Does she give a good massage?
How does she know what to do? (I forgot ) She has a voice recognition system? Can she talk back?
How about an emotion system, with like blushing and stuff. That’d be swell.
I would like to see what Aiko can do
Hi
This is a short 6 minutes video.
A full video demonstration is 45 minutes, but I don’t have the time, so 6 minutes it is.
Project Aiko.
It is still a long way to make it perfect, but one step at a time.
Next month I will show how the internal software of Aiko works.
Including Motion Tracing, Ojbect Tracking and recognition. And Face Extraction and Recognition
I still need to make the movenment more smooth. But one step at a time.
Also, Aiko will make her first public appearance at the International Center on Nov 2007.
Aiko will do 45 minutes of Full demonstration.
Thank for reading.
I hope Youtube Work.
