I am thinking of making a minisumo robot for the 500g class. (Ya, I know it’s a 3kg forum, but it’s getting so little use ) I am planning a universal circuit board that I could use for any sumo robot. It will be based on the parallax SX chip. I will use surface mount chips. An SX-20 or -28 chip, an L293DD (or some other motor driver). I will use QRD 1114 edge sensors. I will use lithium poly batteries for power. I am planning on using sunstone circuits to get the boards made.
Any help, sugestions or criticism would be greatly appreciated.
It sounds like a good idea, my advice will be cut back on wieght in the body so that more sensors ect could be added. Although what makes a sumo bot good is the programming
I suggest putting a lot of programming into this if you cant have too many peripherals onboard. Like I said, what makes a SUMO good is the programming.
