Mini Aluminum Hexapod 3-R Body Kit? [POLL]

Would there be any plans for a Mini Aluminum Hexapod 3-R Body Kit - Round Mini Size?

Can you define this a little further? Are you asking for a hexapod chassis for micro servos, or just a smaller version of the HBKR for standard size servos? I do have a smaller round hexapod chassis that I could make in aluminum. It’s not on the website currently. I’m not planning a micro servo hexapod though…

hi jim. well just a smaller version. not for micro. although that would be cool. 8)

i have plans to build a hexapod with a reduced chassis size, for standard size servos.

i will look for an update on this when it arrives on the site.
any chance of a sneak peek…

If you remind me tomorrow I will try to post an image. Mondays… ug!

LOL…
setting your reminder…
time delay between time zones but i hope the monday blue have gone.
thanks.

Ha! thanks for the extra day.

Here is the chassis next to the CH3-R. The CH3-R measures 10.75" from axis to axis. The Mini Hex Chassis is 8.5".

I really like that smaller size! I’ve been thinking about starting a hexapod project for when I don’t feel like working on W.A.L.T.E.R. It would be really fun to have a small hexapod follow my kitty around.  She likes playing with robots too!

thanks for the update on this. looks nice.
makes the CH3-R look bigger.

looks like there is an interest in this already.

yup, I’m on it. It’s going to be a little while, I’ve got some things in front of it.

Nice addition!

What’s the diameter, servo horn to servo horn (old and new) for comparison?

Alan KM6VV

The information that you seek is actually in the post with the image lol

thanks! I don’t know how I missed that! I did download the pix.

Interesting; my current hexapod has an “across horns” diameter of 8.75", although my legs are not arranged in a symmetrical pattern (and my cutout accommodates a bigger processor board). I did also design one that accommodates a BB2. Haven’t cut it out yet. Both are a “swoopy” design, similar to the Organic Octopod I proposed.

Alan KM6VV

I like the design, are there no pictures of it assembled?

What do you mean? The chassis is assembled… :stuck_out_tongue:

(I know, I win no points for this )

We wanna see LEGS man!

Alan KM6VV

I think it would be interesting to design the mini hex such that it would use the standard $13 servos. Leg design would be critical such that the servos would be able to be used.

That would be cute, but you’d have to consider the weight/power ratio. There would be the overhead of the legs/chassis/CPU/Battery weight to consider. Not easily amortized over the reduced torque of the R/C servos.

Alan KM6VV

The design would need to be light and smart.

Hrmmm, Well this must be a record even for us! Looks like 30 days from inquiry to product. Well there here anyway. We will need a little time to package them up and get them on the website.

man when you deliver 'you deliver!
cool well i will look out for them.
will you also be sending them to your suppiers or just in house for now?

nice work, look very cool. 8)
