but resently, i discovered a wonderful inventions…its called, the “Sleep Timer”
Believe it or not, kids are sort of smart I am sure they can figure that unplugging the TV And plugging it into a different outlet will solve their problem

Chunga, whats a sleep timer do? O.o
well, sleep timer is, when you are getting tired, you press the “Sleep Timer” button and set how long you want the TV on before the sleep timer activates, and after the time period you set it for, its shuts off by itself 
mmmmmmm, I love my sleep timer. Its just a set it an forget it timer on TV’s so if your planning on falling asleep you can set it to 10-90 minutes and the TV will shut off automatically 
where would I be without a sleep timer…prob in the same trouble you guys are in
Ohhh, thats sick. My TV doesn’t have that… It has the opposite You can set when you want the TV to turn on. I remember one of my old TVs had a calendar which you can set like turn on at 6pm on the 16th. on the 20th turn on at 2am, .etc… Thats pretty cool though. How about you just don’t watch tv late at night or don’t fall asleep while watching tv? Drink more coffee then

They wont know whats going on. I plan to put the timmer in when they’re not around muhhahaha 
The outles are behind the table with the tv. its not visable to the eye.
Make sure that it’s not the mechanical variety.
The one we use for our coffee pot makes quite a bit of noise.

Cellphone does look cooler taken apart. The motherboard looks cool. It has a built in gfx card? lol Question though. How are you planning on controlling the servos with a motherboard and CPU? You going to have the SSC-32 connected to DB9 and have a program on the computer control the SSC-32?
Also, how will it be powered? Going to get a 12v battery? Like 2x 6v lynxmotion batteries?
What’s the extra space in the case for?

Yes it has a built in Graphics card. The Extra space will have my laptop drive and PSU for the computer, Mini LCD screen and and extra computer hard ware.
the batteries and SSC-32 will be more in front in the empty space that you see right now. I will be building a custom head for it as well, but the back body part is more what I am going for.
I will wire the SSC-32 to the mobo and have it removeable as well so I can use the Wiport with my laptop (as I am sure the weight is going to be tomuch for the legs).
Nuke Reactor… I am still looking for one small enough to fit in the bot 
Plus the paper work for getting access to run the power plant it also holding things up (Red tape).

Wow, this is looking really nice! I wish I could do construction like this. My Octapods will not look anywhere near as nice as yours.
I know how that goes. I may have to take a couple months away from my Octapods to replace my monitor, which seems to be going out on me. First my 19" LCD goes out and now this 15" CRT may be going out too. 
I guess I can say I know my computer monitors wont be an issue … I have all new ones this year. As I moved from CRT to LCD. Plus I have a couple of spares - I guess I could ebay them but that not what I really want. 
Well Once my Octapod is done… I hoping it does look at least something like that I am trying to get it to … even if it does have to have wires coming out of its backside.

OK now that I been slowly getting the foam ready for building the body. Lynxmotion came out with a new 3DOF leg. That I feel will work better for me as it will give it the more creapy crawlly feel. I will get one set of legs and redo the foot / cafe part as I want it to be less friendly

I am also going through some thoughts on how to get more power from the legs and might be doing a major redesign on those. I would be using linear actuators in place of the servos. So from the Hip to the foot would be changed around. I have found places the sell them at about 100.oo a pop and my 1st thoughts are that I would need 2 per leg at least. If I go thos route I will also have to custom build the legs. (I also would have around 150lb of lift (Battle bot maybe then -GRIN- ) But I would have a new issue of power.
1st steps would be getting the new feet (ordering tomorrow).
