Lynx Logos - Images are in!

My Cable service is down due to a possible bad cable in the atttic. It comes and goes depending on the temperature. The hotter it is in the attic the less signal I get at the modem.

Comcast is going to replace the service line going through the attic this Monday. I hope this will fix the problem because I can’t get HDTV, even though we are paying for it, and my digital TV has all but one or two channels that come through.

I have the Logos completed and will post them here as soon as I can. It rained today and it’s over cast, so hopfully I will have just enough Umph to upload the images. I tried and tried yesterday and gave up @ 9:00pm Central time.

Stay tunned…

Your making new logos?
Awesome

Had this exact same problem in our new bedroom. It ended up being a bad coax connector. That Verizon guy really does have a magic van.

Having spent three years as a cable TV technician in my youth. It can be as simple as a loose fitting. A loose fitting is like a capacitor, so the higher frequencies are rolled off.

Thats the problem I have, the higher channels get worse and worse. The signal is strong to the house on the outside, but poor from the out side connection to the IBM Home Center Junction box. So between the outside and the junction box there is something loose or or worse chewed through (hope not).

cant wait to see those new logos mike

maybe my brother new pet rat chewed through the cables… :open_mouth:

Jim, you are quite a jack of all trades…sorta, but wat were u before then, cause i would assume by “youth” you mean 40-50s xD

jkjk hehe, you gotta allow a kid to have his laughs

Jim is one of those Generous old people, theres not many of those any more

jk -=
So,Mike did you get those Logo’s yet?

I’ve been done with the logos for a week now but the internet will not work at home. I can’t use my work computer for this and I would not use it if I could. I can’t email it to anyone either lol!

So, how did this post find its way on to the internet?

You don’t know? I suggest you do some harder thinking my friend!

i know!!!

magic obviously, psh come on i tought u were smart

Huh? i realy don’t know, this is such a hard question.

Maybe you should also give it a try.

A lot of companies do not allow people to load outside material onto their workstations. Where I work they actually do not have removable media (floppies, cdroms, ls drives, etc) or USB ports exposed on most of the uncontrolled production floor workstations. I have worked with customers where their MIS people remove any un-approved software from every workstation every night… for example microchip’s mplab wasn’t “approved” so the guy had to re-download and install it every morning. Even if employees are allowed to browse the internet the network domain policies can be setup to block many types of content and, short of risking your job by bringing in un-approved tools to circumvent it, there isn’t jack doodle you can do about it. In short, it is certainly possible that just because Mike can access the internet enough to post to a forum on his lunch break doesn’t mean he can do much else.

Well, my apology to SN96 as I didn’t know the depth of his unfortunate circumstances.

Now I don’t expect anyone to like them or if they are choosen to be used. I just did it for fun. I like to make vector graphics which uses simple colors and gradients. Photo Shop stuff is a bit hard and less enjoyable to me.

Anway, here are 4 logo designs, the 5th one I did just for fun and not expected to be considered as part of the other 4. Take a look at the first 4 and give opinions!

Traditional:

One just for fun:

Cable is working today for some reason so I took atvantage of it!

My guess, for brand recognition Jim will wan to stay with the traditional motif.
I really like the color, gradiation, and look but it is a little dark, maybe leave a single dark band and let the rotating “Lynx” lighten as it goes. If that makes any sense.

Nice work Mike, looking forward to seeing the final outcome.

and I am all for you bot head, though I’d like to see your gen 2 version in there instead.

I think this one with a CH3-R in the background would be very cool. I just think one of the latest robot designs should be in the background. Maybe the CH3-R could be the one with the red lights in the legs and a ‘glow’ coming off each led. Oh, I think that would be sooooooooooooooo cool and eye catching.

Oh, and maybe add a slogan under the main logo that says something like “Quality robot parts and kits since .” Those are just my ideas and suggestions, which may or may not be good. I think the ideas are good, of course, though.

8-Dale

I like them all. It’d be cool like linuxguy said to have the CHR-3 in the background, but I was thinking the new Aluminum one to keep with the whole aluminum new age look. I deffinately think LM should upgrade their logo since there is a new age of robotics they are bringing to us and the aluminum is the style to go! 8)

Way to go I like them all!!!

Thanks, I can add the CHR-3 in the background but wanted to keep the logo plain and simple so it can be used to for print. Images are difficult to have printed in 1 or 2 colors.

I will wait for Jim’s input before changing anything, but I am open to any feedback.
