If you do the CH3-R the same way you did the main logo, it can still be done in gray scale for black and white ads. Come on, go ahead and make a sample for us all to see, and surprise Jim too.
you guys have it a bit backwards, logos are supposed to be simple at its fullest, no more than shapes, flat colors and text. the rest of the effects you add on are called treatments, and can usually make or break a logo.
for example, two of the worlds most popular logos.
other than karim’s sony and macdonalds concept examples I think everything else here has been posted at the request of lynxmotion… it was Jim himself who challenged Mike to come up with the new logo they had been loosely discussin… the rest of us just egged them on.
I think this one with the traditional single line larger Lynxmotion logo would be very nice. Maybe you could add some 3D effect to the “Lynxmotion” to make it stand out better in the traditional form over the CH3-R.
It was fun to see some different ideas for the logo. I agree with Nick_a that we should try and stick with the normal motif. I also agree with Itallion Guy that as we grow the aluminum parts line we need to upgrade our logo to be a little more metal looking. Unfortunately I didn’t see anything jump up at me and say Wow, this is it! I would like a logo that keeps the traditional Lynx pivoting on the back of the L, and perhaps look like it was machined from aluminum. I appreciate your work!
The background and most of the LM website is already grey, silver, white and black. I wouldn’t bee too woried about the website’s graphics as this site is better looking than most sites already. Id be more concerned with keeping it user friendly and hacker safe, as well as organized and efficient. I like it the way it is, so don’t fix it unless its broke!
Okay, first thing. I am the one who takes care of all that, not Jim. I happen to like the site colors how they are, so I’m not going to be playing with them any time soon. The logo may change, but that’s still yet to be decided.
Second thing. Please stop quoting the entire post you are replying to. This is incredibly annoying. Please take the extra two seconds to trim out unnecessary quotes.
