Connecting the switches

Hi,

Since I dont have a lot of money, I cant aford to mess up this parts cause i wont be able to buy them again (plus I live in serbia and it seems that here there are no parts required for this robot , so I have to pay the tax for post office services). I wanna know if this robot will work if I connect the switches like in the manual (parallel), and can I use the same code if I do it? You draw in your picture that u have connected the 3rd poles in 0, is that 0 next do the input 4? Please, answer as soon as you can.

Thank you in advance.

Bie ^^

Sorry for the late reply…

Sorry for the late reply… However, yes, you can connect like in the manual  It is very hard to do something wrong with this board, as long as you ake care to hook up the battery right.

Good luck & have fun

Sharp GP2D120 IR Sensor

can I hook up a Sharp GP2D120 IR Sensor instead of bumper switches and add some new lines of code to the robot so it can spot obstacles and get around them

and can I use a usb cable
and can I use a usb cable from my mp3 player that has a 3.5 mm end.It looks same as the picaxe usb cable.

the bot moves too fast for a sharp IR sensor to work effetively. Plus you would have to modify the code to make the bot stop, measure distance, and move accordingly

Possibly, but how can you expect anyone to answer that without a picture, model number, SOMETHING. Its like saying hey I have a thingy here can I use it to do stuff?

well the cable isn’t a problem.I’ll just buy one.my bot is much slower than yours because it has a higher gear ratio and the code isn’t a problem because my dad knows basic.I was just wondering if axe023 will support the sensor and how can i connect it.if you could please tell me how to hook up a sensor i would be very grateful.

Please do some research on
Please do some research on your chips and the sensors you bought. If the picaxe chip has an analog input your good yo use that chip. The datasheet on the project board will tell you where it goes. Maybe you should start with an easier more documented project and follow it to the letter so you know what to do? Or at least post a robot page and ask questions there so people can see you are trying to figure it out on your own. When you ask tons of questions without doign research people stop answering your questions.

I got everything.I only want to know if IR Sharp GP2D120 sensor can be attached to the axe023,nothing else.

If it has an analog input, yes. The datasheet that came with the chip and board will answer that. HINT it has 3…
