Litter Robot 3, flashing blue light

Hello,

I bought a Litter Robot 3 on the French website in August 2018. The web confirmation number is 1400043481.

The blue light is flashing non-stop. I tried everything that is in the manual online but nothing works.

What can be done please?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!
Melissa

Hello @MeliGi974

Thank you for contacting RobotShop.

We are sorry to hear about the problem.

Please give us the serial number of the robot. You can find it on the base.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your quick answer.

The SN is LR3090777

Also I noticed before that issue that often my litter during its cycle would stop at some point and stay in whatever position the globe is with the orange light flashing. I had to unplug and replug many times to have it work properly again.
Is there anything that can be done concerning that issue as well please?

Thank you,
Melissa

Hello Melissa,

Thank you for your reply.

Let’s try with troubleshooting first. If it doesn’t solve the problem, we will recommend you which parts should be replaced.

For the blue blinking light, please perform these steps: Litter-Robot III Open Air - Blue Blinking Light

For the yellow blinking light, this one: Litter-Robot III Open Air - Yellow Blinking Light. It would be good to know if the yellow light is blinking slowly (once per second) or quickly (twice per second). You can send us a video of the issue so we can confirm this.

Hello again,

So I got it to cycle and it blocked with the flashing orange light.
After unplugging and replugging now it’s stuck in the same position with the blue light flashing.

Here are the two videos:

Thank you again for your help,

Hello @MeliGi974

Thank you for the videos.

What we see is that globe rotated too far which activated anti-pinch pins (fast blinking yellow light which turns to blue blinking light when RESET is pressed).

This can be caused by three things:

  1. If you recently disassembled the globe and lost or mixed up the magnets inside the globe it would explain the problem
  2. Hall-effect sensor inside the base is defective and base cannot detect position of the globe properly. This is the most common problem.
  3. Wrong or defective power supply used (this rarely happens)

Feel free to ask anything else.

Hello again,

This happened at some point so I disassembled the litter and cleaned it thoroughly. But even after that it continued. So I suppose the problem is option 2. What can be done please? And what about the blue light flashing? Is there anything that should be changed to repair it?

Thank you so much,
Melissa

Hello @MeliGi974 ,

In this case, we recommend replacing DFI sensor (to solve blue blinking light) and Hall-effect sensor (to solve problem with cycle). We also recommend replacing anti-pinch pins.

Here you can buy these parts:
https://www.robotshop.com/eu/en/litter-robot-3-open-air-dfi-hardware.html

Litter-Robot 3 Open Air Wiring Harness - RobotShop (Hall sensor is a part of complete wiring harness).

Here are the instructions on how to replace these parts:

Hello ,

Thank you again so much.

However your were talking about three products to change and I only see two.
Is that normal?

Best regards,
Melissa
