Note I used All zeros as suggested above and the actual activation code. Looks like someone created a “solution” that doesn’t solve a problem. How about giving us a real way to use software we paid for?
I’m unsure what part of the detailed answers you find terse, but you seem to imply more than one. I’d appreciate more details on that one if you don’t mind. My only goal here is to help people with their issues, certainly not offend them! You can certainly send me a private message about it, if you prefer.
Considering the amount of issues vs sales/activation, we’re talking of an number of issues < 1%, with about half of those fully resolved. I wouldn’t see this as “many”.
This is a completely normal response since the response code from the server is a 400 code. That being said, there is also content sent with it which it seems wget ignores. With a successful result you will get a return code of 200 (and then wget shows the resulting page as expected).
To follow your example, I’ve done the following on my Arch Linux VM:
The result you get with wget is good and as expected, simply analyzed the with the wrong perspective.
Yep. That’s on purpose. We’ve moved the server for ease of management and to provide better service with it. As you can see with the tests above the server does respond as expected. The redirect is in place to prevent breaking backward compatibility with previous versions of the software that were never updated, such as in educational environments behind a firewall. These typically don’t get the notifications for updates for things such as FlowBotics Studio.
It would help if you could provide some details about which software you are using and what issues you are having. I’ll assume it is an activation issue due to the topic you originally posted to.
Please provide as many details as you can and some screenshot of the situation as needed.
The software package we paid for is the " FlowBotics App for Phidgets Wheatstone Bridge Sensor Interface", the Activation failed at home and on systems at work. The example above (content edited slightly due to being a public forum), resulted in a 400 error. The firewall on each system (Windows) was completely disabled, and one dev system there isn’t even anti-virus software running. “Activation Failed” message does’t even tell me what the issue is, but I can tell you that all “non-browser” applications have unrestricted http (port 80) access to all sites. We have no issues activating other software with similar methods including Fusion360. So at the very least we want to either use the software or have the license revoked and refunded the money… If getting this to work is a local work-around solution, then provide please.
We can provide a method for offline activation but we will need to move this conversation to a private one for confidentiality reasons (order ID, licence key, etc.).
