Jester is a stand up guy!

Well I traded 14 SES brackets, an SSC-32, 8 Servos, and a Nitro Helicopter for Jester’s Electric Swift Helicopter, motor and ESC.

I was a bit nervous doing a $400 to $500 valued trade with someone I didn’t previously know, but Jester came through. The parcel only had half my address on it so it got bounced around CanadaPost and almost sent back for a week. But after talking with CanadaPost and Purolator for hours on end, we tracked the parcel down and it was sent to my post office today.

Unfortunetly, Purolator made an attempt to deliver it without a complete address and gave it to some kid without a signature. The parents had to call Purolator later and let them know that the package didn’t belong to him or their house. So Purolator picked it up and gave it back to CaandaPost.

At some point in all the passing around and the kid having the parcel (which was opened when they picked it up) the $200 ESC has disappeared from the box. The Helicopter is brand new like Jester said, the motor looks better than he described it and he even included a new Canopy for Raptor for free. But I’ll likely never find out who ended up with the ESC. Likely it’s in that kids room right now, or on the floor at the CanadaPost Warehouse.
Nothing I can do about it and it’s not really anyones fault.

Man, am I happy with the Swift and motor though!!! Jester is honest, polite and a man of his word. Don’t hesitate to deal with him.

Seriously though, Id go to that kids house and bust his head open with a sledge hammer!! :imp:

Or you could send your secret hundred pound bot to knock on his door. Im sure that would scare him! :smiling_imp:

But seriously, Im shocked how both Puralator and Canada Post did not give you any compensation for your damaged and missing items. I would deffinately consider talking to them.

I’ve talked to them, I got a parcel so they don’t care what is or was in it.
I already threatened to go over to the house. That was when Purolator said they would get a driver to stop in and ask if anything was left there that was taken out of the box.

If they don’t come up with something soon, I’m going to stop in and talk to the parents there to explain the situation. Purolator retaped the box after getting it back so most likely the kid had everything dumped out and didn’t put the ESC back. Either by accident or on purpose.

Either way, the ESC is worth well over $200 and I want it back. I doubt I’ll ever get it though since I really don’t have any proof that he even has it. it may have fell out in the Purolator truck, who knows. I do believe Jester 100% when he says he included it though. He hasn’t lied to me once and he doesn’t seem like that kind of guy. It was definitely lost during the confusion Purolator and CanadaPost had.

I got the heli together today and spooled it up in my garage to track the blades and setup the throttle/pitch curves on the transmitter. Man she’s a nice quiet bird.

Thanks, Jester. The motor runs like it was new out of the box.

I assume having a talk with the parents is what you would do? I know if something Ive mine was taken by a kid or missing becuase of the couriers I would deffinately do everrything it takes to get it back. After all we are talking about a 200$$ piece of equipment.

I’ve had a large box arrive with a hole in it. There was a helicopter ad a bunch of parts in a bag inside with foam peanuts. It must have got kicked around and ripped open. Customs opened the box and the bag of parts and then through them back in without closing the bag up. So when I got the broken box home, I found I was missing a $300 gyro, about a dozen srews and bolts and 2 digital $60 servos. They likely fell out somewhere along the way during transit. The guy even issured the package for $900 and spent 3 months trying to process a claim for $400 for the parts that were missing.

In the end, they said “The receiver shouldn’t have accepted the parcel if it was damaged.” Since he did, we don’t guarantee the contents, only the condition it’s in.

It was a huge heavy box and cost the guy $60 to ship, I wasn’t about to refuse the parcel when it appeared that nothing was broken.

The same thing will happen here. The Post Office will say " If the contents weren’t damaged in transit, we can’t guantee what was shipped in it."

There’s a chance that the ESC fell out at some point after it was picked up fromt he kids house when Purolator had it then gave it to CanadaPost. I don’t know how long after it was retaped. So I can’t say that the kid has it or not. But I’ll be sure he doesn’t. I don’t know how old he is either, the lady just mentioned that the driver said a kid accepted it and his parents called in later that evening. When they picked it up, it had been opened and appeared to have had the contents removed.

I have high hopes that its there if the package was opened prior to being picked up by puralotor. I am a long time customer of puralator as well as Canada post and always have had good support. Im sure they would be careful enough and notice if something fell out…Not to say anything about the kid, but if he opened it, I think he should pay for it. Isn’t openeing other people’s mail a fellony in Canada?

I never thought of that. Even if it was delivered to the wrong address, the box is clearly addressed to my name so is illegal to open it.

exactly, im sure some sort of compensation or threat to sue would clear that up.

Well I am glad you are having fun already with the Heli.!

It is a felony to open someones elses mail.
I think it would fall under a claim for a few reasons. The package was delivered to an unconfirmed address, I believe that may be neglegence on behalf of canada post. The package was gone through by persons other than customs. That includes the kid and anyone who assisted in the retapping of that box.
Now I broke the heli down into subassemblies and bagged everything in clear sealed vaccume bags, so in order for anything to get lost, a subassembly would be missing and not just one item. There is no need to open the sealed bag either. Where the bags opened? My sealer melts the plastic bag like lynmotion screw packs.
So what strikes me as odd is this package that has a complete description of it’s contents is delivered to an unconfirmed address and then is opened by a person other than the intended receipient. Why did the delivery guy think that was the correct address? All I could think is that maybe that house has in the past received model equipment from the US before? My guess is was removed at the kids house…

Most likely, The kid was probably fascinated by the board and wanted to keep it even when his parents had puralator come pick up the stuff. Its probably under his bed right now.

Both of the sealed bags were cut open on the end when I opened the box.
Other than the ESC, there’s just a few small bits missing, like the mainblade bolts and servo spacers. Nothing major.

Since there was no street nuber or street name on the parcel it just had #10 and the city. I’m surprised they would even attempt delivery since there was no street number or address to deliver it to. They just delivered it to house #10 that the postal code was closest too. But since the postal code was wrong, it was the other side of the city. I don’t know what they were thinking.

I’ll call them again tomorrow to see what is up. They were supposed to call today but didn’t. This is the first time I have even heard of something like this happening. I get many deliveries every month and never have I seen this.

I’ll get some pics of the Swift up tomorrow.

Well the fact that the bags where cut open sure tells alot.
I will call my post becuasse express mail comes with a 100.us insurance against loss automatically. You just need to hold on to the packageing for alittle while to show them it was packed well for delivery handling.

Thanks Jester but I’ve already tossed the box. I also called USPS customer service and they said that if it was delivered to the wrong address, opened, then picked it back up, it’s that carrier’s problem.

If I get the feeling that kid has it, I will get it back. After all, CanadaPost did tell me where they delivered it. And I can be very persistent when someone has something that belongs to me.

lol, that actually sounds slightly threatening :open_mouth:

hopefully he didn’t take it apart and try and make soem thing new with it  :open_mouth:

Well, I called and filed a missing content claim. In a pm I’ll give you a contact ref number. You need to notify Canada Post of the missing content. After they confirm with USPS I will get the claim form to itemize what was missing. The guy also said you probably wont need the packageing. This insurance comes with the service so if they will except responsiblity then where good to go.

I’ve already contacted CanadaPost. I’ll be calling them back today.

Im glad I had the chance to toss up the idea of GETTING YOUR STUFF BACK lol

espacialy coming from a 6’3", 230 lbs man

you know, I would not want to be that kid…I’m sure he will be hiding under his covers when theres a knock at his door and a large man is standing there demanding an answer for why his package was destroyed… :stuck_out_tongue:

seems just a little threatening, but very neccessary. I dont think this matter can be setteled over a cup of tea if that is what you thouhgt :open_mouth:

LOL, if I’m sure he has it after I talk to them, but they won’t cooperate, I’ll call the cops and let them know. I am friends with some of the swat team. I’m sure one of them will go talk to the parents.

If not, I’ll call their house every single day asking if they found it until they finally give it back.

I’m not all that upset. Things do happen. And if the kid stole it, what goes around, comes around. And he’ll get his some day. At least I got the helicopter and ESC right. The glass is half full.
