here is an image of the Phoenix parts. Getting them ready for the anodizer. Getting closer. hehe 8)
OMG! those are a lot of bots!
Making 103 bots this run.
This is the coolest hexdesign. What are the color options again?
WOW!
Good thing to know that you didnāt make these parts by hand
Imagine 100 of these bots marching around the floor together like a ants colony. I think my wife would get a heart attackā¦
Very cool Jim, this is so FUN !!
NUM NUM NUM
Iām doing equal amounts of Red, Blue, Black, and a lesser amount of Green. 8)
can we pre-order?
Lemme get the firm pricing for the anodizer first.
Iām buying one of these ASAP.
I am quite impressed as well. I wish the whole kit wouldānt cost much as it seems to include expensive servos. Anxiously waiting for the release.
Iām hoping it is available without servos. I have an AH3 that I can cannibalize.
I wish this design could suffice the need to acquire the IC Hexapod developed by micromagicsystems,āreally an awesome hexapodā.
Hey,
Just wondering, when are you going to release this product to buy, this kit looks simply amazingā¦ and unique. Also, will the body frame for the bot be added to the servo erector set?
And will it be available as a non-anodized set?
(yes! I want my purpleā¦ )
We are still digging out from being closed over the holidays. The parts are already packaged ready to go to the anodizer, but I am still deciding where to send them. I hope to have them on the shelf in 2 to 3 weeks. This is a busy time for us as we fill orders from two weeks, do inventory, and order parts so nothing goes out of stock. I ask for your patience while we get caught up.
No way I can do any non anodized parts though. Best bet would be to buy clear anodized parts and have them redone in your favorite color. Note, I donāt know if that is possible.
Break out the belt sander and fire her upā¦ new surfaces ready to be re-annodized.
Non-anodized is a better choice than āclearā anodized IMHO. With brushed brackets you have the option of polishing to a shine if you want, which Iāve considered. Now you have SES brackets that are all brushed and the newer silver stuff stuff is all clear anodized, so it not the same. I donāt really understand - the first pic you showed of the parts they were all brushed, no anodization at all.
The images you saw at first were tumbled, and everyone, including me, was not happy with the look, So I ran them across my belt sander. Not a fun thing to do I might add. It took me over an hour to get the brushed finish look. That bot is going to Laurent for code development. The production parts are already bundled for anodization. I could sell the ones I was planning to have anodized in clear without a finish, but I am sure lots more would complain about that.
How many people are complaining about the non-ano silver SES brackets? I have not seen a complaint. I think itās cool to have the option of sanding or polishing.
Iām planning to get black so I donāt care so much about the Phoenix silver, but I think in general for the SES moving forward it would be better to stick with brushed silver to match the existing SES. Are you plan to ano all your silver SES stuff in future runs?
