Learn how to make an incredibly cheap, attractive, functional, rugged delta wing design airframe which can be used to learn how to fly or as the platform for an autonomous drone. This is a fast little craft and is both good (rugged) and bad (responsive and fast) for beginners. Additional details may be added, and feedback is welcome.

Nice write up! This should lead more robot builders into the rc flying world. I have been building wings for years and started out with flat plate fan fold designs but gravitated to EPP airfoil wings strengthened with carbon fiber or fishing pole rods and then laminated with copy shop laminate - super indestructible and a real airfoil to boot. I even fly mine without the winglets. Very fun flying machines.
RC flying and robotics seems a natural mix. I never got into multi-copters.
I would like to add, if someone is considering getting into flying they should first train on a simulator like FMS, then they will be more successful when trying the real thing. One does not have to go through a flying club to learn how to fly - I taught myself and yes you do crash a lot but it was a great and satisfying experience.
@demej00 Appreciated! I started with RC gliders in a park with a hill - nice, slow and gentle, but the frames were balsa and didn’t survive impact (and took a long time to build). A friend with more experience strongly suggests a high wing park flier with a very very low stall speed like the GWS “Slow stick”. I can also say that indeed the simulators are pretty good, and practiced with quadcopters.

I just moved to a new city here in China and it is tough finding a place to fly - we are in Kunming in the mountains but just wanted to post picture of my go to epp plane that was a kit but it is virtually a wing (plank) and similar to scratchbuilt.
I moded this one a bit, put LEDs in the wings for night flying, spinner with folding prop so I could glide it a bit, 3s 800 lipo, mounted the ESC on the outside to keep it cool. (no photo of the mods)
Just found a field the other day and got a chance to fly 3 batteries worth - great fun. So happy to fly.
@demej00 Finding a nice place to fly makes all the difference. Adding a small FPV camera - amazing! Your plane is certainly production - hope you might give this scratch build a try?
