I’m making a 4 wheeled robot with 4 motors so that the wheels run independently, for steering I plan control right and left side separately.
Could I do this with an esc controlling each side (2 total) or would I need an esc for each motor(4 total)?
Ps: For electronics would i need anything else apart from motors, esc, batteries and radio controller/receiver?
Hello @juanmais and welcome to the forum,
If you’re using regular wheels and simply want skid steering motion then yes, 2 ESC should be enough
If you have omni or mecanum wheels and want more advanced locomotion then you’ll need separate ESC
For electronics would i need anything else apart from motors, esc, batteries and radio controller/receiver?
If everything is powered using the same voltage or the ESC you chose has a BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit) then that’s all you need, if not then you might need a BEC or an extra battery for the receiver.
