Help of where to start

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.
I’m looking to create my first robot and want it to cut my grass. I want it to be able to know the boundaries to cut and stay within them. Is this possible first of all and if so how much should I budget to build it. I just want it to be basic but work.
