I want to learn and build a drone/UAV using a ready to fly DIY kit with open source flight controller software. Preferably with ROS support. Do you have any recommendation?

Great to see you around. As @igor_X suggested, that is a great option.
It already includes a low-level controller, [here] (http://flyingeinstein.com/) you can find the information you will need about sensor calibration and flight characteristics.
I have to ask, what task do you plan to do with ROS? :smile:
