DiaLFonZo HEXapod Mini - Idea

That’s real nice of you.
I will try that in some minutes…

I can’t say “Thanks” each time you answer or help me cause there will be only that in the thread … LOL…

So Thanks a lot for helping me

Nothing… i might be doing somthing wrong for sure.

Did a quick test

  • I made a cable to run my FTDI adapter direct to the SSC-32 serial port
  • Hook to a Putty serial screen and it the servo respond to commands

Two things to check.

Baud rate to ssc32: should be set to 38400

Code may be configured to output binary mode. If ssc does not support, there is a define named something like binarymode, comment it out…

Kurt

Baud Rate is check and confirm (since in serial command i am in 38400)
How do i know if my SSC support binay ? (i can upgrade that ?) (ver: SSC32-V2.03XE)

Did a test with that commented
But don’t look to be working that way too.

//#define	cSSC_BINARYMODE	1			// Define if your SSC-32 card supports binary mode.

In a serial windows i have the “Rd” going and going

Here is a picture of the SSC-32

Here is a video of the SSC-32 connected with Lynxterm with my FTDI adapter.
It look that one of my servo don’t like too fast refresh… :frowning:

Now I have my computer on…

First to enable/disable Binary mode: the configuration option is:

#define	cSSC_BINARYMODE	1

Binary mode was added to some later versions of the firmware. It is not there by default. You can download and install a version from the SSS-32 product page: lynxmotion.com/p-395-ssc-32- … oller.aspx

Look for the ones that have EGP at the end of their name.

Kurt

P.S. - If I were you I would simply undo the define above and see if it starts to work

OK… found my bad…

There is two identical define

I changed the second one that time… Perfect…

btw: can’t download any firmware cause the server is down…

and the video…!!

Its alive… nice one.
Bet you cant wait for the shipment from shapeways hay.

I don’t even have a date… :frowning:

Yeah… Been there my friend. Lol

they usually provide a dispatch day before checkout?

Getting my hand on some programming to control Servo direct from a Arduino …
Yes… i guess all of you are laughing…

So here is where i am… Two servo driven from my ProMini shield.
Initialisation sequence ( 10deg - 90deg - 170deg - 90deg )
The two servo move at different speed and at the same time.
Blinking at a 100us rate

Eric,

Interesting video. But I noticed the servos really didn’t do much until the baby started yelling at them. Who did you say was in control? :stuck_out_tongue:

HaHa… i integrated some voice recognition… :open_mouth:

Little update…
The 3D printed parts should be shipped 26 of september…

Rubber ORing idea…

That’s a really good idea. Looks cool as hell, too.

I think there may be a little problem though if you try to walk with the body pitched or rolled at a significant angle. The point of ground contact would change a little. Seems like an isolated case though so it probably wouldn’t be too big of a deal.

I like the slight angle on them, too. Looks really cool.

Now if you could power those wheels…

Some pictures just off the package…

WOW! These parts have a glowing vibrant sheen to them almost like skeletal bones. If possible, they look even better than the CAD renderings. This is really getting exciting!
