Some more pictures…
So far so good… only one problem that was easy solve with the coxa servo wire.

Very nice. Parts seem to fit very nicely.
Dome looks cool too.
Looking forward to seeing Henrys face when it starts to walk. lol
Looks pretty neat!
Are you going to chrome the dome, or paint it gloss black?

The partook great, man. Now hurry up!
I’ve checked the forums half a dozen times today hoping to see a finished pic.

Damn missed steps. One thing I should warn you about is that mach3 does not work well with laptops. Something about the power saving methods built into the machines messes with the signals sent to the drivers. It might be worth looking into a cheap refurb desktop with a parallel port. I got one from newegg for like $90 and have never missed a step since.
And oh yeah. That’s a great looking frame.

That’s on the old cnc since the new one is not ready.
On LinuxCNC and normal PC.
I don’t know what happened. But part are wrong.
Thanks a lot Jonny…!!!
Ah time… if only i have enough.

Looks great Eric. Nicely done.
Any assembly of the femurs?
Looking forward to this.
Hi, Eric,
Those are nice legs you made. Am I right in assuming that you cut them on your new CNC and that you have solved the problem of missing steps in Mach 3 that was bothering you earlier?
I like the carbon fiber. What are you using and how does it compare with the fiberglass PC board material you used to use?
Ted

Yes i have cut them on the new CNC.
I have slowed the cnc in speed and acceleration and no more missing step since.
The G10 is really solid material…
I would say the carbon is stronger but really… it’s more for the look than anything else on that project
I had an issue on that cut you can see the plate move from side to side while cutting…
Need to fix my plate better… Normaly i cut bigger sheet and i have stopper to avoid that.
Those look great. Nice to see progress on this. I’m excited to see it fully assembled.
3D printing, carbon fiber… at what point will you integrate living cells?
