It’s been several weeks that I am cooking things in the background.
In fact, I think that it will be the start of a very nice experience.
For people who don’t know, I am active on Lynxmotion forum for several years now. Recently we talked a lot about UAV Drones and they were really interested to start a new division.
So… I am excited and proud to announce that RobotShop bought DiaLFonZo-Copter and I am now working full time at their Headquarters to create and support the new line of drones.
I am and will be here on forums to help and support everyone, just now it will be my full time job not just a sideline. That means more availability and support for everyone who is looking for UAV Drones and Lynxmotion products.
Thanks a lot for all your past support and we are heading for the future…! Keep visit us and participate here on the Lynxmotion forum, the new home of DiaLFonZo-Copter.
Warthox - For giving us at Lynxmotion the opportunity to use his VTail 400 video.
InnerbreedFX - For his support and wonderful work on the canopy 's.
Bledi - For asking me to design a professional vtail platform.
Luis - Because he believed in me and helped start the whole DiaLFonZo-Copter journey.
All the community of UAV/Drones who supported me over the years by buying one of my frames.
Glad to see Robotshop/Lynxmotion team and brought the UAV platform with you. I’ve been a hobbyist robot builder/programmer for a number of years, this past year I picked up the AR Drone 2.0, then DJI Phantom, then started building DJI F450, 3DRobotics and then into Flite Test speedbuild, scratch builds, totally freak’n addicted to sky based flying and automation. Been working with the KK2.0, DJI Naza boards and also the APM 2.5+ doing automated missions and also got the fatshark setup for FPV.
My order is in for the Hunter VTail 500 - This seems like such a great platform - first off the profile is going to make orientation while flying this awesome - I prefer my tricopter over my quads, but payload is an issue on the tricopter. The straight front arms are going to be great for the GoPro and FPV, I got the 500 so I could take advantage of the more powerful motors and larger prop combination - please tell me your going to come out with a canopy for that - I will likely get 2, one to keep clean and sexy for fun flying, another that I will like be drilling some holes for FPV gear antenna, etc.
Looking forward to other stuff - I noticed on your site what look like a Y6 with nice landing gear and gimbal below
Very nice to see people jumping in Multirotor world.
(Well you where already there … lol)
We will sure work on getting a canopy done for the 500.
Can’t promise any date … since we are putting a lot of effort on making kits at the moment. (Motors - ESC etc etc. all with plugs for easy wiring)
Originaly i had put holes on the front for mounting camear gear… i think that will be the next add-on.
The VTail really act like a Tricopter but without the hassle of having the tilt servo-motor.
I have the 3DRobotics quad setup - APM 2.5, telemetry and video set - it is a great setup and the frame has enough room for all the electronics. Done quite a few auto flight missions. I have found the APM has worked great from DJI F450 to 3DR frame and I have it on my Talon Tricopter. I will probably move it over to the Hunter VTail
I have the Hunter 400 V-Tail and have been wondering where to get frame parts such as, Landing legs, upper plate and standoffs or other parts that may come up?
Hi wayne66,
They will be available on Lynxmotion and RobotShop website soon.
We only listed complete hardware only kits for the launch but will add more and more.
MultiWii PRO Flight controller w/MTK GPS Module & MultiWii 328P Flight Controller w/FTDI & DSM2 Port from Hobby King (USA warehouse - thankfully). Just curious as to what boards you guys prefer
I haven’t messed with them, but I have done a bunch of things with Arduino boards and such, I have FTDI interface cables, etc so this should be kinda fun, seems like the MultiWii is a bit more hacker fun.
So now I have the APM 2.5+, KK2.0, DJI Naza M V2 and MultiWii’s coming. I also backed the TiltyIMU on Kickstarter so eventually may try playing around with coding some of my own flight routines. Looking to be a fun winter of building things
We will release our first choice for MultiWii this week.
It’s a sport flyer board of 35x35mm. Based on ATmega 328.
It has USB on board so no FTDI is needed…
Eric. Glad to see you getting the backing of some active partners. I am so looking forward to getting my hunter i am like a kid at Christmas. I am 60plus and still love to fly rc. New planes quads helis (brand new here in the heli end) but love these multicopters. I have built a few v tails, wood sticks as I call them but they fly great, I believe a designed and manufactured unit like the hunter will take 10 years off my age… Ordering tomorrow morning, would have tonight but no PayPal option. Anyway good luck and keep up with the great designs.

Oh Yes. I ordered my Hunter 400 today but have a few questions. What motor /esc combo are you having the best results with. I want this as my everyday flyer. I also have a kk2.0, a multiwii pro, and a nano wii to choose from, I have 2 ublox gps units to use if needed. ATM I have a homemade v tail 450 size 2212/30amp esc,s spektrumn 7 channel receiver and satellite. Run 3 s 33-4500 man 30c both. I also have a jDrones hex 550. With jDrones hd motors and 30 a jDrones esc,s sk flashed. Apm2.5 w voltage monitor, gps, 3DR radio. This one has a 8 channel spektrumn rec with sat. I Have the a/v tr and rec ordered. This is a work in progress ready now to start test flights. The frame system is a recovered from crash unit from a good friend. Anyone with tips or suggestions I do welcome them.
To all you guys and girls building robots I salute you, also a little envy there too.
