DFRobotShop Rover Tutorial - Control With Android App / Bluetooth | RobotShop Community

The DFRobotShop Rover products have been out for a while and we have received many questions since then on both our support center and on our forum. One common question we get is how to control the rover using a smart phone / tablet?. This tutorial will cover a simple Android-based solution to make this happen for you and your rover!

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://community.robotshop.com/blog/show/dfrobotshop-rover-tutorial-control-with-android-app-bluetooth

Hello,
do you know how I can debug this? I can connect to the Bluetooth module. When I send a command via phone the LED on the rover is blinking, but nothing is happening. Via USB cable it’s working. If I use Bluetooth via Laptop and Hyper-Terminal I get the setup of the script response setup multiple times. Is it possible that the script ist starting again and again.
The rover is my first Arduino Project …

@Dirk For troubleshooting it’s best to contact us via the RobotShop forum here: https://www.robotshop.com/forum/dfrobotshop-rover-f92

Im having trouble with my rover because whenever I try to upload the code I am getting error messages. PLease help

@Jerry Tran: Technical support request should be posted on our forum here. Please make sure to add images of your error messages, if any, as this will be required to properly help you. You can attach images in “Full editor” mode.
Also, if the errors happen during upload, you may want to go to “File > Preferences” in the Arduino IDE and activate the “Verbose output” for both compilation and upload. Then, try the process again. Select all the text at the bottom (in the console) and paste it into a file (you can use Notepad or similar) and also attach that file to your post.

Great Instructions… Everything Works Perfectly, moving onto trying to control the rover with the wireless gamepad

Is there a similar tutorial for iOS devices? Perhaps someone could point me to an app that has worked for them to control their Rover.

Thanks

David
