Constant Issues with Litter Robot 4

While I ultimately want to love this litter box, it’s overpriced for what you get. I still have to keep my standard box available because there is a fault nearly every cycle. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting and it still is a constant issue. I travel a lot and it just makes this an impractical paperweight.

Any time a clean cycle runs it says it’s interrupted every 2-3 seconss and then will go to the Cat Sensor Fault even if there is no cat around it at all.

I’ve wiped along the sensors and made sure no litter was clinging to it, removed the bonnet and checked to make sure nothing was trapped in it, checked the waste bin and underneath but it still keeps happening.

The weight that holds the liner inside appears to be loose which may be triggering it.

In addition to this, it tells me the waste bin is nearly full deapite it being completely empty.

This has been happening since March and the actual customer support for Litter Robot offered zero help. Im ready to throw the whole thing in the trash and it’s only 7 month old.

I received it as a Christmas gift from my brother, so its under his name.

Hello @Jexii ,

Thank you for your reply.

The robot is under warranty and the issue that you are having would require replacing the sensor board so we can send you a new one under warranty.

This video will show you how to replace it:

As for the weight disc, is it out of its place or not?

Awaiting your reply.

I think the weight is out of place. When it cycles the liner “drops” down. I tried pushing it back into place but it doesn’t stay.

Hello @Jexii ,

Thank you for your reply.

The liner is supposed to drop down during the cycle to help the clumps fall down into the waste drawer so this is the correct functionality for the robot.

Let us know if that’s not the case.

Okay, I wasnt sure if the weight was supposed to drop down, and thought maybe that was what was causing the constant interruptions during cycling.

Will the sensor be shipped to the original address from the order? I just need to let my parents know to watch for it if so.

I have received and installed the sensor as per the video. There is still an interruption happening during every clean cycle, and now the litter level and waste bin monitor on the app arent registering anything.

Hello @Jexii ,

We have sent you an email and haven’t received a reply:

Is this not a valid email?

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Odd,
That email didn’t show up and it is a valid email.

I have done the reset and updated the firmware. It is now showing my litter and waste levels but I am still having cycle interruptions even when no cats are present.

Hello @Jexii ,

Thank you for your reply.

what’s the status of the lights when the robot stops mid-cycle?

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

It comes up as Cycle Interrupted, and there is nothing around that would be interrupting the cycles. So all the lights are red

Hello @Jexii ,

Thank you for your reply.

Please clean the sensor lenses located at the top of the entrance of the robot to remove any dust or hair string that might be covering them and causing false readings:

Let us know how it goes.

It is still having cycle interrupted alerts. I’ve cleaned the sensor multiple tomes but the issue still persists.
