I know Len the owner personally. He has built his business from the ground up and has done a great job. I believe DroidWorx is using a Fireball to make CF parts for quad copters and camera gimbals. I would highly recommend it. As you know it’s one thing to be able to produce an aluminum prototype part compared to mass producing them. I’m sure the FireBall would be able to do it.
Great recommendation, thanks Jim!
If you’re basically cutting aluminum sheet metal, then it should be fine. A little fast on the spindle speed for aluminum (check cutter feed rates) but I’d go for one.
Plastics, wood CF, fiberglass should all be fine!

Awesome, thanks mate.
I am getting a new baby…
This one is 40x60 but mine will be 40x48 (That is machine dimension not cutting area)
Sweet!
I’ll bet you can’t wait to get it! I couldn’t!
Alan KM6VV
No i can’t wait
I will probably pick it Friday
Do you think it will be strong enough…?
40x60 version mine will be 40x48
Yeah, I think that might do it!
Alan KM6VV
Man…
30mm linears are HUGE…
I have the cnc now and will need some space to assemble it… too big
loose assembly…
Eric,
I watched your ride-along video. Nice, but it seems like a rather expensive way to build a massage chair, and it doesn’t even do your back.
HaHa…!
I can cut a massage chair with that CNC…
Can’t wait to get it to work.
It is Huge… i was amaze when i pick it…
Probably too big… but…
Alan… that’s for you… lol (aluminum)

That’s nice!
I’m into metal…

Parts look great eric. looking forward to seeing more.
how long did it take to cut the base plate?

Which base plate ?
The biggest problem with those particular part is that i use some sheet that i have that where made for brakets.
Already painted gray on both side and i have milled the whole surface before starting to cut parts.
The two center plate are mostly useless… better to be keep in G10 but the top plate look cool…
Looks cool, but not too heavy?
You can mill fiberglass and CF too!

Too heavy… milled like that it’s not bad.
But yes it’s more than G10
I’ve recently been milling red structural fiberglass. Cuts really nice, although I hate the dust!
Parts appear light and strong, flexable too. My design uses a box construction, so the chassis gets stiffened up sufficiently. I’d love to try carbon fiber in appropriate thicknesses for a (UGV) vehicle.
