Hi I received the Kit Step 7e (SSC-32 + BotBoarduino + Optional PS2v2).
I cannot connect it to anything. I Uploaded two videos on youtube to show where i am.
youtube.com/watch?v=BftFXK308Yg
youtube.com/watch?v=–HcyBnm1ns
My only guess is that i didn’t get the right head in the kit…
if i follow this manual, lynxmotion.com/images/html/m … sembly.htm
I have the two green boards in Step 7e (SSC-32 + BotBoarduino + Optional PS2v2), but with the wavy head of Step 7d (SSC-32U + BotBoarduino + Optional PS2v3).
I hope it can still work out…
Thank you
Fernando
Hi Fernando,
Looking at your video, you might have something wrong in your wiring and/or jumpers as the BotBoarduino is reseting each second (you can hear it).
Try to take very good pictures of both your boards so we can take a look but also go in the manual and verify everything.
The BotBoarduino will have to be loaded with a project, have you already done that ? Otherwise it will do nothing.
In your video, you are trying to connect by BlueTooth but do you have a BlueTooh module connected ?
All the best,
Hi thank you for helping me out,
I followed the manual and i’m certain the connection is good and the jumpers are in the right position.
I have a bluetooth device that works good. I can find my other bluetooth devices in the house.
about the boatBoarduino , it’s brand new. I bought the flowbotic program and it has a hexapod project in. do i need to download an other program? Anyhow, to download something in the boatBoarduino i need to be able to connect it… I am a programmer so if there is some programming that needs to be done i can code it.

Hi Fernando.
Your setup do not have any “Bluetooth” module so it’s normal not to find anything in Windows.
If you want wireless communication you will have to buy a bluetooth module.
The BotBoarduino is an Arduino microcontroller and it will need to be loaded with code that will do what you need.
You can browse the Lynxmotion GitHub which is linked at the end of the user manual HERE.
To load code into the BotBoarduino (BotBoarduino User Guide) you need the free Arduino IDE application an USB connection.

Hi thanks again,
Isn’t this a Bluetooth device?

No, this is the PS2 controller adapter.
Hi Fernando,
Ok - A few thing to understand in this robot.
- The SSC-32 is a serial communication device that allow for controlling R/C servos
- The BotBoarduino is an Arduino compatible microcontroller that can be programmed with the Arduino IDE free software.
If you want to use FlowBotics you do not need the BotBoarduino and require serial communication between your computer and the SSC-32.
Unfortunately you have the old SSC-32 which is not USB and do not allow for a BluetoothBee module to be mounted. However you could connect one.
You have two choices, get your FTDI adapter connected directly to the serial pins on the SSC-32 or get something wireless like a Bluetooth module.
The old SSC-32 manual is still available HERE and you will see the pins for connecting the serial. (point 14)
This seems to be a used robot as we do not sell the SSC-32 original anymore.

Hi,
Thanks,…
I just sent you a private message.
I bought the FTDI and I installed the virtual port. But anyhow, the Lynn term is not able to connect the the SSC-32.
I sent you a private message, did you receive it?
Hi Fernando,
Yes we received the message, but since it can be useful to others and that’s what a Forum is made for we will answer here.
Have you installed the drivers for the FT232R adapter ? Have you set the Baud-Rate on the SSC-32 to the same thing you have in LynxTerm ?
Yeah I installed the driver directly from the FTDI website, settled the latency and matched the braudrates.
And I bought the kit directly from robot shop, Canada. It was a new unit
Have you disconnected your BotBoarduino board ? If not then you have two things connected at the same time on the serial port.
I want an exchange, I told it was a plug and play.
The Lynxmotion products are not Plug-n-Play as they are kits.
Have you been able to look for your connection to the BotBoarduino ? It is not needed if you connect it to the PC directly.
I just tried,
Still nothing…
Honestly I really think something is wrong. I want to return the ssc-32 get the ssc32u with a working-compatible botboarduino that I can plug in once the rest it is assemble and use the flowbotice directly.
We are having this discussion because costumer service are clueless
Where can I send the the SSC-32 and the malfunctioning botbarduino?
Thank you
We do not have a team of customer support over the phone.
At the moment, we need to find the issue as nothing here tell us there is an issue with either of the boards. Provide us some pictures of your board as tested with the serial adapter.
Note: FlowBotics is not a free software.
I posted pictures and videos if you scroll up nothing changes on the boards when it’s connected to the computer
So again, you still have the botboarduino serial connection wired to the ssc-32?
Disconnect it as it will be problematic, two serial connections on the same port.
No I don’t, I told you I tried already with them being disconnected
