Can anyone give me some guidance in designing an ‘invisible fence’ with a buried RF wire that can be detected from approx 30ft away? I saw this: https://www.robotshop.com/en/robotshop-perimeter-wire-generator-sensor-soldering-kit.html?utm_campaign=diy-perimeter-wire-generator-and-sensor&utm_medium=blog&utm_source=rb-community#TogetherProducts Can this be ‘amped up’ to get the desired detection range, or do I need completely different components?
Hello @rickkalil and welcome to the forum
I’m not an expert on this topic but I think these forum posts will come in handy:
As well as this blog post:
I hope those can help you out
Thanks, Geraldine for the response.
@rickkalil you can follow this blog for additional information: https://community.robotshop.com/blog/show/diy-perimeter-wire-generator-and-sensor
Thanks for the response Geraldine. I read those forum posts and the blog before I posted my question. If my understanding is correct, I’m trying to use an RF system, not an inductive system. What I don’t know is how far away the sensor will detect the buried RF wire. I’m hoping someone with some expertise on RF buried wire (similar to the invisible dog fence) can tell me how to build my circuits to achieve detection 30ft away from a buried wire that is about 500ft in total length.
