Blue light flashing after cycling

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.

I own a litter robot II and for the past few weeks the blue light has started flashing after cycling. The light becomes solid if I press the reset button, but occasionally the yellow will flash was well, but becomes solid spontaneously after a few minutes. The only thing I have done was to clean all the sensors.

The machine is not under warranty.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hi there!
we tried all the things that we could have based on what we read in the thread, but unfortunately the problem has persisted.
Do u have any other suggestions we could try.

Cheers

Humberto

Hello @humberto,

Thank you for your reply.

If the cleaning didn’t fix the issue, the DFI sensor will need to be replaced.

We will also need to see the 3 pairs of contact pins shown in the following videos:
Anti-Pinch Pins:

Bonnet’s Pin:

Base’s Pin:

No need to take them out of the robot, we only need to see them from the outside.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi Ebram,

I forgot to mention in my last email that the blue light is constantly flashing and does not turn solid even if the reset button is pressed. I do not know if this information is going to change your advice or not, but I thought it would be better to mention it.

Is there anything in particular we need to look for in the contact pins?

Cheers

Humberto

Hello @humberto

Thank you for your reply.

The blue blinking light indicates an issue with the DFI sensor so replacing it should fix this problem.

The pins might have some dark spots on them so please send us pictures like these so we can check them for you:

Awaiting your reply.

Hi Ebram,

Please find attached photos of the contact pins. They don’t look normal to me. Please advise the next step.

Humberto

Hi Ebram,

I replaced everything but now the yellow light is flashing approximately once per second.
What have i done wrong and what do you suggest to do?

Humberto

Hello @humberto,

Thank you for your reply.

In this case, you have mixed up the black and purple wires but we need to see pictures of them so we can confirm which ones will need to be reversed (bonnet or base wires)

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi
Thank you for your prompt reply. In the meantime time the red light has also started flashing, but not at the same time as the yellow light.
I am confused. Let me know if the photos are good.

Regards

Humberto

Hi Ebram,

I am not sure I’ve mixed up the wires. They seem correct to me. But now it’s the red light that is blinking, and not the yellow.
Please advise.

Regards,

Humberto

Hello @humberto,

Thank you for your reply.

The pins are indeed connected correctly but please make sure that the connectors are fully pushed in to secure a good connection.

Regarding the Red blinking light, Does it blink while the robot is at the home position or it stops mid-cycle?

If it stops mid-cycle please empty the litter from the globe then test again without litter.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi Ebram,

The red light blinking comes on as soon as I turn on the robot. Pressing reset does not do anything. The machine is worse since I replaced the pins and the DFI, because before if I pressed the reset button the machine would occasionally work; however, now the red light is constantly blinking. Hence my confusion with the all thing.

Hello @humberto,

Thank you for your reply.

It’s possible that the CAT sensor got damaged during the installation of the other parts so please use this video to check it in case something wasn’t connected or out of place:

If it’s the same, then the CAT sensor will need to be replaced.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hi Ebram,

How will I know if the sensor is damaged? is there anything I should look for in particular?

Humberto

Hello @humberto,

Check the connections and if the sensor is out of place.

Also, check the black foot at the bottom of the robot if there’s anything unusual with it.

Sincerely,
