Arduino quadruped robot

Hi all,

I’ve been working on my first real robot last week-end and wanted to share it. It’s a simple quadruped arduino robot controlled by serial (via USB). Videos can be viewed on my blog : http://blog.joomun.org/2012/09/09/arduino-quadruped-robot/

The robot structure has been created with cheap mecanno clone

IR control has been added, i'll update the blog later.

Walk forward and backword

  • Actuators / output devices: 2 servos
  • Control method: USB, Infrared
  • CPU: Arduino Duemilanove
  • Power source: 4 x AA 2000mah/h, PC power supply
  • Programming language: Arduino Processing
  • Target environment: indoor

It reminds me on my 4-leg

It reminds me on my 4-leg insect bot :slight_smile: and I am about to re-build it with micro servos and an customized Attiny board.

Meccano is quite a good choice to build cool robots. I really need to buy more of that little metal pieces…
