I’m just starting to build robotic 4 DC motor drive with 2 rear & 2 forward angle arms with 4 DC motors to control over uneven ground, anyone know if there is a standalone IMU with 4 PWM motor output for the motor ESC’s or built in 4 way ESC’s
Hello @tourerjim and welcome to the RobotShop community,
If I understood correctly you are looking for a motor controller that includes an IMU. If that’s the case then I’m afraid I don’t know any motor driver that does, the only thing I can think of is a flight controller but as the name implies these are meant to be used with UAV’s, however, I’m sure some models can also be used with ground vehicles. Maybe you could be interested in this:
Although a more cost-effective option would be simply using a microcontroller and a motor driver that can communicate with it (through serial for example). If you re interested in this option I suggest checking these guides:
Aww okay thanks, I’ll give up on that idea for now then so can you recommend 12dc motor bidirectional pwm controller, motors are max 1.5 amp load.
For sure!
Are your motors brushed or brushless?
Are you planning on controlling your car remotely? With an RC remote for example
Do you need separate channels for each wheel or are you planning on wiring two and two in parallel?
If you motors are brushed, you only need two channels and no RC you could use this one:
Or you can check for other options in the <10A DC Controllers section of the store.
If you want to control them remotely I suggest checking the R/C DC Controllers section, here’s a good option:
And if your motors are brushless I recommend checking the Brushless DC Motor Controllers.
I hope that helps!
Helps me a lot,
I will be using my radio to control the robotic so I will check your RC motor driver, thank you
I’m going to be using flight controller with Ardupilot/Ardurover as I’m very familiar with this and the FC has 12 pwm outputs.
Will this Cytron 10A 7V-30V Dual DC Motor Driver for R/C work with 2 x motors on each side of the motor driver as it seems it’s 10amp each side and max motor load is 1.5 amp x the 4 motors so I’m thinking be okay as two motors 3 amp a side.

You’re correct
Thank you so much for your helpfulness , I’ve now ordered.
I’ve ordered anyway but is there UK suppler for future orders as shipping is bit costly.
I’m not sure if you knew this but you can change the view of the store to the UK version:
This way when you make your order it will ship from the nearest warehouse, in this case, it would be from the one in France

I am not aware of any Cytron UK distributor but you could contact the manufacturer directly to see if there is one.
yes GBR 28.24 with tax, then post 9.77 plus tax of 1.95, total 39.96, the email just tells me it’s Europe sales assistance phone number.
No worries anyway, next time I order will double check that it is Europe delivery.
I had ordered the Cytron 10A 7V-30V Dual DC Motor Driver for R/C but unfortunately seems to have gone missing whilst in transit, I’ve been informed a replacement will be sent out, in mean time I just wondered if this can be mount in any orientation as it may have to be fitted inverted.
Hello
We recommend contacting the manufacturer directly at: [email protected]
Or use the live chat on their website: https://www.cytron.io/
