Yellow Light Flashing quickly on Litter Robot 3

Our Litter Robot 3 has gone into error with the middle yellow light flashing.

When the fault occurs, the globe was upside down and had travelled past the dump position.

I stripped the unit down, cleaned the pinch sensor and checked with a Meter to make sure it doesn’t have high resistance. I also cleaned the lenses of the Optical Sensor and have removed the motherboard cover to check that the magnetic switches are in place and have reseated all multi plugs on the motherboard. The magnets are in the globe and attract metal so I know it’s unrelated to these.

I’m presuming that it’s now due to component failure. Anything else I can check.

Hi Stevefish69,

Welcome on the forum.

You have verified everything you should.

If the globe didn’t stop and over-rotate, it surely triggered the anti-pinch safety feature.
This is why you had the yellow light blinking quickly on the control panel.

The globe could had exceed the dump position because of 2 things:
-the magnets in the globe
-The hall effect sensors being defective.

Since you verified the magnets already, I’m probably sure that the Hall Effect Sensors would need to be replaced.

Confirm if the robot is still under warranty.
