I just bought a new WiTilt V3 accelerometer and I am trying to set it up on my Mac.
I have installed Zterm, configured it most of the way, except when I try to configure the modem settings in Zterm, I get an error stating “Device busy while trying to open selected port”
I don’t know how to fix this and compile data from my accelerometer.
I can receive data in terminal using the “screen” command, but it appears as though I’m unable to record this data. I have been trying to use a program called Zterm (saw online that it would work) but it has been unable to connect properly. The user guide has nothing about Baud rate, can you tell me how to configure that?
Is the WiTilt V3 a product you purchased at RobotShop? If so, we may be able to help. Unfortunately only a small number of robotics manufacturers are making their products immediately compatible with MAC.
We see now from your order that the product is RB-Spa-14. Unfortunately the manufacturer no longer has this product online, though the user guide can be found on RobotShop’s website. Did you try getting the raw data using the bluetooth? You can do this pre-calibration just to see that you get data. It sounds like you may also need to configure the Baud rate. Take another look at the user guide and see which step you get hung up on and we’ll see if we can help more.
The Baud rate needs to be set at 115200bps within the software if you are connecting via Bluetooth. The settings in the terminal program would be 115200/8/n/1. With regard to Zterm, you would need to contact the manufacturer to see what they suggest, or perhaps another user here has experience with it.
