Hello Everyone,
My project is going to use a AT90USB1287 Microcontroller OR an Arduino UNO. My goal is to have the motors controlled directly from the microcontroller (no mechanical initiation), as eventually the motors must respond to sensor feedback.
I’m basically hoping to combine something like this: instructables.com/id/Duel-Motor-Driver-with-Arduino-using-a-SN754410NE-/ with something like this: thebox.myzen.co.uk/Workshop/Motors_1.html (the first or second diagram). So, microcontroller sends output signal (forward or reverse) through resistor, opens transistor which connects battery source to motors/h-bridge control (not so sure about the order there), activates motor(s) in forward or reverse accordingly.
Here are the specs:
Motor: Mabuchi FC280-SA 2470 DC, 4.5V, 3A stall current
Source: 4.5-9V
H-Bridge: SN754410NE Texas Instruments
Transistor: NPN 2N222 (not sure if this model will work, saw it on a website somewhere with similar purpose)
Basically, is this possible? What else would I need to get this working? Thanks in advance!
