Hi Laureatus,

My configuration: Toshiba Satellite Pcentrino, Intel motherboard (I have latest bios version), wXPprof

Quick question,
Does your Toshiba have a serial port or USB only? If only USB that may explain your problem. The RIOS software is probably attempting to retrieve/write configuration information from/to the com port associated with the serial port and none exists. Just a thought. Hope this helps with finding source

chris

are you using the last RIOS version (V1.03) ?

Hi all,
I’m using the lates version of RIOS. I tried run RIOS on HP laptop (almost same configuration, also without serial port) and it does work.

Ok, that’s a weird bug…
i have found an update to the Comport component that i’m using within RIOS,
RIOS V1.03 is using Comport V3.0.1
i will build a new version of RIOS with the new Comport V3.1.0, but i don’t know if they have corrected this bug…
i have some minor bugs to correct too (about the separate servos drive system(shoulder))

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, double-click System.
Click the Device Manager tab.
Double-click a device type to see the devices in that category.
Double-click ports followed by the com ports available then view each com ports properties tab.
If an error code has been generated, the code appears in the Device Status box on the General tab. If one exists it is not the RIOS and try this below

Disable com port, reenable com port reinstall/update drivers and finally reinstall RIOS. Good luck

Chris
