Will your Phoenix go "mad" sometime?

Hi all:

I’ve build a Phoenix and play around with it for a while.
Recently, I found that something with it.
The Phoenix seems mad and lose control sometimes, ex. some legs is not working, or it will circle around automatically.
Sometimes it can’t be connected with ny PS2 controller.
I’ve checked the controller and it’s should be OK.
I didn’t do anything to the FW ever since I programmed them.
Is there anyone who ran into the same problem as me?
Thanks a lot !!

You’ll need to explain a bit more. Sounds like either a power issue or cross-talk.

Hi Benson:

There is a bigger problem happened now.
The board keeps beeping.
I think the PS2 controller is linked to the PS2 wireless receiver, since the red led on the receiver is stable and not flashing.
But the Phoenix isn’t respond to the PS2 controller, and keep beeping when power on.
The power for Phoenix should be OK since I just re-charge the battery (It works fine months ago).
For cross talk, I don’t have other wireless devices in the same room.
Any idea about this situation?
Thanks a lot!!

Re-check the connections and make sure there is no short happening somewhere (the likeliest place for a short are at the screw terminals). If everything looks ok, upload the code once again. If you still get the same results, you’ll need to check it section by section, starting with the SC-32, then SSC-32 to Bot Board, then BotBoard to PS2 etc…

If it is beeping at the start, it is most likely the PS2 is not communicating with the Phoenix. Not sure how your PS2 is wired in, but double check to make sure that all of the wires are connected. Also make sure it is getting +5v and not VS. Not sure from this posting on what your Phoenix is running on (BAP28, Arc32, Botboarduino), so can not get specifics there.

Note: batteries go bad, so after you charge your battery, you might use a volt meter to see what you got. Also do you have a different battery for VL? If so check/replace that one.

As Coleman mentioned, also check for shorts. Also check/replace batteries in PS2 to see if that helps.

Good Luck
